    Blue Eyes

My DD2 was born with blue eyes which I know is quite common for newborns to have although genetically speaking, it is possible for her to have inherited them, I am expecting them to change. My DD1 has beautiful olive eyes that she had from birth. Purely because I'm curious I am wondering the following...

Was your baby born with blue eyes?
What kind of blue would you describe them as? (eg. Steel, Dark, Light, Murky, Bright... the more description the better, was there any hint of another colour within them for example)
    Did they change?
    When did they change?
What colour did they change to?

    Thanks!

DD1 was born with black eyes and they are now dark brown
DD2 was born with china blue eyes, they are still blue at 3yo so I think they will stay that way. They have changed though and are probably a bit greyer now, more of a cornflower blue perhaps?

My ds2 has blue eyes, which surprised us a lot because both his father and I have brown eyes!

Ds1 has really dark brown eyes too. Dh's parents both have brown/hazel eyes too, so there is quite a recessive gene in there somewhere (despite all jokes about the postman!)

Ds2 has really light bright blue eyes, not that deep cloudy baby-blue, and they didn't really change, although I think they got even lighter as he grew. He is 20 months now so I hope we are safe, because I so associate him with blue eyes now that I would be devastated if they changed now!!

DS and DD were both born with blueish eyes, but both have brown eyes now. The blue they were born with wasn't a pure blue though. It was darkish with a brown tinge to it, so I knew they were destined to have brown eyes like their Daddy, not green/grey like mine. Their brown eyes are a lighter brown than their Dad's though, and lighter than their two half brothers' as well.

I sort of have my fingers crossed that this bub is going to inherit my eye colour just to beat the genetic odds, lol.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that they had changed and settled by about 6 months of age.

Moo had eyes so blue that even the whites of his eyes looked blue. Now at 2.5 his eyes are a much lighter blue, quite piercing though.

Little Buster's eyes were so dark at birth that we thought they were black! As the days went on they got lighter but are still a very dark blue at almost 12 weeks.

DD1 was born with the clearest, bluest eyes I've ever seen - a bit like that azure/turquoise sort of blue the ocean is in silly romantic movies set in tropical island settings. They are still blue, but now are quite changeable depending on how she is feeling, what she is wearing etc (hmmm, makes her sound possessed really!) but they stayed that gorgeous azure colour for at least the first two years before they started changing slightly. Hers are now the same as mine - they switch from blue through greens and greys.

DD2 was born with muddy blue eyes and around 7 months hers started changing. She now has beautiful rich dark brown eyes like her daddy.

DD was born with blue eyes (DH blue mine brown) and it was the biggest shock cause I just assumed she would have brown eyes.
Id describe them as a bright blue....from the moment I looked at them I never thought that they would ever change.
At 3 1/2yrs they have lightened up but are still blue.

My sisters who 2 of her 3 children eyes' changed to brown always had a brown tinge about them whenever I looked at them and by 1 they were both 100% brown/hazel.

My DD was born with bright crystal blue eyes, and changed to a hazel colour about 22 months (about the same time DS was born so we joke about them changing green with jealously)..

DS had and still has bright blue eyes and is 2 nad 1/2.

DD was born with very dark blue, almost black eyes. Over about 9 months they gradually lightened, and now she has golden brown coloured eyes.

DD was born with very dark blue eyes. They were dark enough that MIL kept going on about how they'd change to brown (I think she was a bit annoyed that she looked so much like me and not at all like any of them, so she didn't want her to have my eyes too).

They have gradually changed, but to a lighter blue. I don't know how early they started changing or if/when they stopped, but they seem to be steady now. They look just like mine, a clear light blue.
