    Woo hoo! New thread

    The sauce sounds good Belfie.

Astrolady - occasionally they have interest free purchase periods. I think it's a couple of times a year. It may be worth going to a demo to see if you like it, then having a demo at home to convince you DH when there's an opportunity to buy interest free. My Mum came to a demo and was 100% certain they wouldn't buy one, but they did, through the interest free thingy.

I haven't made much this week. Boiled eggs a couple of times it's great for that, to be able to walk away and come back when done, rather than watching a pot boil, but not what a $2k machine is for. I feel like I should be using for more. I made dip today when I had the munchies, but I think the cream cheese may have been bad as I reacted to it. Either that or I really do have to give up dairy I was going to cook dinner but I cbf and it's too late now. I have half a lemon left over though, so maybe I should make some lemon custard....

    Clearly you should

I've been meaning to make hommus all week, but now my feet hurt and I wish to celebrate my close relationship with the sofa so I think Hommus can wait till tomorrow.

Honey soy chicken sounds yum Olive

has anyone made Quirky Cooking's green smoothie?

EDIT: i'm really not sure why Hommus warranted a capital H on the second mention but not the first. Guess I'm tired.

im still fairly new to the thermomix-ing world, i got my machine in december and im totally in love with him!

rissotto, bolognaise sauce, custard, smoothies, wholemeal muffins, wholemeal pizza dough and other bits and bobs are regulars here.

mh DH has a few food issues, not 100% what we havnt had him looked at properly, so being able to make whole meal biscuits, muffins, pizza bases, etc quickly and easily has been amazing for me.

i had to find a supplier to get wholemeal bakers flour to perfect my pizza dough but its mastered now!

Yep I am going to one on Tuesday night. Same friend is holding another. At the moment there is interest on the payment plan. Paying an extra $300 on top of the RRP. I wouldn't be able to find the minimum $15 a week at the moment anyway unless I found myself a job LOL.

Mrs NB - what do you put in your smoothies? I want to start drinking more veggie juices.

I just follow the quirky cooking one - except I put cocoa in not cacao cos I couldn't find any here.

Mrs NB - do you think the green smoothie would still work without the dates and nuts? I'm really keen to try one but I'm wondering if it'll just end up like a normal smoothie IYKWIM? I guess it'd still be green at least

Yeah would still work but probably wouldn't keep you as full for as long as the original one does?

    OMG I want one!!!

I'd never heard of them until last year (just after i bought a Breville mixer thingy ), now i'm wondering if i should sell my Breville and invest in one of these!?

My cousin is loaning me hers while she goes OS for three weeks and i'm so excited about what i can do in that time. Dinners and the motivation to make them are zero for me at the moment but i'm a bit excited with my new (temporary) toy.

Last night i made the Apricot Chiken (rissotto style) and it was yummm.

Going to go sit and have a cuppa and figure out tonights dinner now

    Any tips ladies?

Start freezing fruit for fruity dream. It rocks.

Rocky dream is the best. I make with ground chia instead of eggwhite and it tastes great.

Chocolate custard is another favourite. That never last in out house. DH doesnt like custard so I dont know where it goes. The gremlins, presumably.

I just bought a whole lot of fruit & vegies. I want to start making green smoothies, so I'll freeze some avacado & banana overnight. I have spinach and kale & I'll throw in some berries, an egg and whatever else. Lets hope it tastes good. I'm also going to stew some fruit - rhubarb, berries, plums. Maybe a bit of lemon. I did it with a whole mandarin once and it was surprisingly yummy.

Tonight I plan on making an all in one meal. Steamed salmon, green beans and mashed sweet potato. Better go. TMX is calling

Well the Thermomix demo I was supposed to be going to tomorrow night has been cancelled. Maybe someone is trying to tell me something, that is the 3rd I have missed out on now LOL. Another friend has one booked for the 22nd so hopefully that one sticks.

Lol astro, bummer! Don't eat too much before you go because you get about 6 courses to sample.

We make brekky smoothies too, skim milk, banana, blueberries, linseed (flaxseed), magnesium and vital greens powder.

I made the hot chocolate last night and it was very dark and strong! Next time I think I will try 30g of cocoa instead. I added 1 heaped teaspoon of cornflour and it was a great texture. I can highly recommend you try it.

I also made a chicken and vegetable pie last night - made the filling in the thermie, but the chicken was kinda pulverised by the end of the cooking. Next time I think I will steam the chicken and make a white sauce in the base.
