    Question kinder

next year DJ may go to kinder. he can ether go next year (aged 4) or the following year (aged 5) but im not sure if he'll be ready? its come up now as we'll have to apply for funding for an aside for him due to the AS and attendance at a normal kinder. he wont be toliet trained and may know *some* keyword. the former will remain at 5 also as AS kids dont TT till much, much later.

the risk too is if we send dj at 5, vic will be 4 and in the same grade\class. which is fine but they'll be at differant schools and i want vic to be his own person KWIM? and i dont want him to think he'll be at school with dj eather. aaaaargh what to do what to do???

I think you should speak to the local council about DJs needs and what his limitations are. I know there is one girl at DD kinder who is not fully toilet trained and they deal with it - I don't know if the kids are suppose to be fully trained or not - perhaps that is a myth that can be clarified by the council or local kindergarten? We also have another child who has a funded aid & she is coping fine (I don't know why she has an aid though). GL

skybie - yeah we're hopefully finding out about our options

Rhi - we will be having an aside for DJ regardless. its just a matter of if we apply then pull out if it means we can re-apply again

I am certain you can apply then if a place is offered defer for the following year - we had that option for our DD and my GF deferred her son b/c he was old enough for school but she didn't think he was ready. We are in the Sth East Suburbs (Casey Council). Do they have a kinder information night coming up or can you just call an enrolment officer?
