    Hello June Mummies!!

I'm on my phone so if someone could post up the babies list so we can keep track of the babies and mummies that would be great!

Liam and I are still in hospital, checking out tomorrow. It's been a wonderful hospital stay. Ive had such an amazing experience with his birth and recovery. I'm truly blessed

He's sleeping a lot during the day at the moment and has been quite unsettled at night. I've been getting blocks of around 45 mins sleep and nursing every 2 hours or so but hoping now that my milk is in that he sleeps for longer periods.

Anyway, hope to see some more June Mummies in here soon!

Hi gorgeous. I'm so glad to hear that Liam is doing so well.

I'm truly lucky this time. Lexie is so incredibly easy going so I'm feeling fantastic. She is sleeping beautifully and for nights I'm giving her a feed around 10pm, then getting 4 odd hours between feeds so its great. Having attachment issues but going to see the LC today so hopefully can make some improvements.

Now that my little girl is here I can't believe I had so many doubts about having a third child.

I'll be back in a bit to do a list

Thanks for doing a list Lulu

    Enjoy going home BR!

Just touching base, I am still about! We are doing better now, long story but we have switched to formula as of today and I am finally noticing my inflamation/infection in the c/s wound is finally clearing. Feeling semi human now so am sure we will be great in no time.

Still find it surreal that DS is here and he is already 8 days old!! He is currently asleep on my chest

    Have a lovely day ladies

    Hey mammas!

I am just coming in to see if I can be a "supposed to be June baby" because I've just missed out with the 31st may!
May thread doesn't have much action and I don't know anyone!

Miss C is very windy the last few days, does anyone know if my diet affects this? I don't know what to do for the poor little egg. She feeds every 3 hours, but when she is in pain she'll try and latch on and then come off squealing from the tummy pain

Recovered from the mastitis now, still using the nipple shields though. See the LC on Monday gain so hopefully I an start ditching them.

Yay for you mammas that can finally come home. BubbaT I know what you mean about being able to sleep next to dh again. So nice!

    Xx

Yeah they are the best Bubba!

Yeah of course Little_O!! Oh bugger about the mastitis hun! Thats good you've recovered I have heard that our diets can affect the bub when you BF. My girlfriend found she couldn't eat cabbage and another veggie (which I can't remember at the minute) because it reacted on her bub through the milk.

I too hear Bubba on the sleeping next to your partner, I miss it to! You get so used to having that person next to you...

Hi everyone. Nice to see more June bubbies - and a gorgeous sneaky May bubby ;-).

Little O - definitely what you eat can affect your little one. Cabbage, tomato, onion, spicy things like curry etc, chocolate, dairy and coffee are all things I can remember off the top of my head that can go through your milk and give your LO a tummy ache. I find the easiest thing to do is keep your diet really bland (oh yay!) and slowly introduce the things that may cause trouble one at a time and see if you notice any change in behaviour. Good luck with the LC tomorrow.

BubbaT - good to hear you're starting to feel better.

BR - yay for being home. Nothing like it, however nice your hospital is! I hope Liam's night feeds start stretching out a bit for you so you can catch up on some sleep

MC hope - boo to early morning feeds.

Things are going really well here. A is still really relaxed, although she is feeding soooooooo much during the day. Its DH's birthday tomorrow so this morning we went out for breakfast and then went to play mini golf with the "big" girls. I didn't end up playing because A was in a sling almost the whole time attached to a boob after being on a boob for most of breakfast, and then while we went and did a quick shop after as well. Fortunately she seems to have a crazy feeding session until 2pm ish, but then she has a really good long sleep. She's also great overnight - usually feeding around 9.30 pm, and then again around 2am and then not until about 6am so I really can't complain. Just hoping it lasts and she doesn't reverse everything and sleep through the day and feed through the night! Her attachment is still crap most of the time so I'm struggling with really sore, mashed nipples. Hopefully she'll improve when she gets a bit bigger.

Thanks mc_hope for the pointers on cabbage. How long before you get to sleep next to dp again?

Lulu: your poor nipples. I know the pain, mine are finally recovering with the shields, not fun at all. How is she attaching wrong? We're your other girls the same? My dd is a super strong sucker, so with the colostrum she just over sucked and gave my blisters. Then last week I had a bad night of attachment where she wouldn't open up enough and latch on properly and boy did I pay for it. Super cracked!! Don't you wish there was an anesthetic we could apply until they healed!! Thanks also for the food pointers. Tomato, tick. Chocolate, tick. Chilli, tick. No wonder the poor monkey thinks her tummy is exploding! I will have to try cutting them all out.

Afm: shocking night last night, really hoping for a Better one tonight. Dh goes back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks, really worried how I will go by myself he's been my rock for 2 weeks.
What do you other mums do for settling? Dh was saying maybe we need to teach her a bit of self settling, but I think she is too little. Is that right?

OMG. No tomato for me from now on. We had a tomato based pasta sauce last night and my poor little girl was so unsettled - we were up from 2am to 5am and she was so windy and unhappy, had three massive pooplosions and was still a little unsettled this morning. Thank goodness she's now having a good sleep. She must be exhausted the poor little poppet.

Little O - I think its still too young to expect your bub to self settle. I could never have got I and E to self settle because they were very unsettled little bubs. They never did self settle really - I cuddled/held/touched them to sleep until they were well over 2 years of age. Fortunately they are now brilliant little sleepers. A is a much more content baby, and I can put her down while she's drifting off, rather than sound asleep and just rock/swing her to sleep in her hammock, or pat her to sleep in her cot. I have always gone the more hands on road though - I would rather take longer and just cuddle my babies to sleep and then put them down. Its a very personal thing, and one that you will find triggers a LOT of disagreement ;-) Do what you're comfortable with, but at this stage it would be expecting a lot from a tiny baby to get themselves to sleep. Try not to stress about your DH going back to work. My DH works from home but TBH I prefer it when he stays in his office and just leaves me to do my own thing. Don't worry - you'll do great.

Little_O - tonight I get to sleep next to my DP again! We came home from the hossy today, yay!!

So yes, we got to bring our little guy home today. He is already having his first nap in his bassinet We got home in time for his next feed. Im not having much fun with the MCN's though. I've put two on him so far and the urine has just leaked straight out the sides. Once in his bassinet and then the second time on me. Maybe I am not putting them on tight enough?!

Oh and I think I posted about it in the Belly Buddies thread, but my milk has well and truly come in now. We have BF'ing a try whilst in the hossy but I am not that keen on it. He latched on ok, but after every feed he just didn't seem to settle and it was like he was constantly hungry?! So I've decided I am going to express my breast milk and bottle feed it to him. Will see how we go with that plan anyway!

Hope you are all off enjoying those snuggles xx

Yay mc_hope for coming home today. It's the best feeling being back at home. Make sure you sneak a cuddle in with dp tonight our dd can sense when we are even remotely close and makes noise lol!

With the bf-ing I read an article about formula vs bf and it was saying that the reason a baby appears more "full" after formula is it takes longer for them to digest and so it makes them drowsy. Whereas BM is the most easily digested and so they appear more alert. I'm pretty sure it was on kellymom.com but if I find it I'll link you in.

Lulu: your poor baby and poor you too. 3 hours would be a killer. Glad she's better today. I agree with you will cuddling. I keep thinking how she won't be this little for long!

Afm: my right breast feels bruised again, which is how the mastitis made it feel really hoping I can avoid it again. I massaged it out and have been trying to first feed from there do hopefully it works! Going to see the LC now so I shall let you know how I go!
