    morning ladies

    little_ o -
there is no point stressin your mental health.
I couldn't agree more! Yay for little miss C for putting on 210g! X has his weigh in tomorrow

Lulu - I have a stack of the all in ones, one size fits all but since X is small he doesn't really fit them. I was given 2 newborn sizes and I figured out yesterday that I just wasn't tightening them enough and I had them clipped on all wrong (if that makes sense?)! I had a gf come around and show me! So, so far he is doing good in them. I am glad I bought flushable liners though because we go through a fair bit! Atm, DP has to do all our washing because its downstairs and he doesn't want me traipsing up and down them for a little bit!

    AFU (as for us ),
We are purely just using formula now. It took me a good couple of days to realise I am not being a 'bad mum' by giving Xman formula and that he is one happy little man. Now I have the fun task of letting my milk dry up!! Any tips? How have you gone with it so far Bubba? I have been using cold packs throughout the day - they aren't sore yet, I just read that cold packs and cabbage leaves help assist with the swelling?

Ok finally got there! Miss c has been feeding non stop. Damn this mastitis not giving her enough!
So my book recommends lovage herb, a tincture rubbed in to the breasts and also taking an infusion of it. It's meant to reduce supply. Also apparently rubbing st johns wart oil or chamomile ointment once or twice into the nipples is meant to help

Ok let me try to do this off memory

Little o I love not having gd anymore but I find I don't feel as tempted for bad stuff too, how are you finding it?

Mc hope X is feeding brilliantly now that he is off the Boobie juice. Sleeps 3-4 hours at a time. Umm I know you had another question but I forget it lol

Sorry that was all I could remember will post again as soon as I get a chance.

I switched DD1 to formula at 13 weeks - went cold turkey - and found if I expressed just enough to take the real fullness off then it helped first with my discomfort and second reduced "demand" so my milk dried quite quickly. I mainly pumped but also hnd expressed in a hot shower. you're not a bad mummy = you're doing a great job looking after yourself and your little man.

My poor little girl had a cold now. I'm not surprised given everyone in our family has been sick but its so hard watching her struggle through a feed.

Hi ladies, looks like I in here now! My little man arrived yesterday morning in an unexpectedly quick and primal birth. Was quite unsettled yesterday from the quick delivery, but seems to be settling down now.

Just quickly mc, I find just dont touch them! Lol and I was also told coke dries them up a bit quicker, or any caffeine I think. Shall see in a day or two I guess.

Will come back in properly hopefully later today.

Mc hope I expressed once when they were going to explode but besides that I just massage out the lumps in the shower. They haven't needed to be touched besides that. I figure if I don't touch they won't break like the rest of me haha

Thanks ladies! Sounds like I am on the right track! I have been doing the same in the shower Bubba, massaging the lumps out. And if they are a little too full I hand express a little - but in the morning only, so I figure thats only a small amount and won't trigger my body to make more (i hope!). In saying that though I didn't express any today and am going to go with not touching them (as in expressing) and see how we go...

Lulu - oh, I hope your little one gets over her cold quickly!

Little O - have you tried different nursing positions? I find that I need to alternate between chest to chest and foot ball hold in order to drain all the ducts. Apparently the ducts where the babies nose is pointing gets drained during a feed so if you switch the position then different ducts get drained. Hope this helps. You're doing a great job!

Mc - wearing a really firm fitting bra (sports bra if possible) will help too. Sounds like you're doing all the the right things so far!

Lulu - sorry to hear your DD is sick. It's hard when you can't make them feel better or give them medication. Just gotta ride it out and hope it doesn't get any worse. Hope she gets better quickly!

AFM - we've settled in back at home. DS1 is getting used to having a new little person take up more of mummies time. Luckily DS2 sleeps quite a bit so I can just put him down and be a good mummy to DS1. He still had his moments. But that's understandable. All in all I'd say he was dealing with the change pretty well!

L is breastfeeding like a champion. His sleep stretches at night have become a little longer but he has a lot of gas causing an upset tummy so the early mornings (3am onwards) he's only sleeping 1.5-2hr blocks and wanting to nurse lots. But his early evening sleep is up to 3.5-4 hrs. So I'm probably averaging around 5-6hrs broken sleep a night. I know it will get better.

I've pretty much recovered physically from the birth now, although I have a pesky cough and don't have the abdominal strength to cough well so it's become quite chesty. Also my pelvic floor muscles seemed to have gone to **** and when I do cough I leak so I'm working on my pelvic floor muscle exercises as much as I can!

Tomorrow we have our newborn photography session. Can't wait for that!

Ok, gotta go and bathe DS2. Night mamas!!
