    Panadol or nurofen?

When your little one has a temp, which do you prefer?
Is one recommended medically over the other?
    Also, is 37.9 high?

37.9 isn't high. It's only just out of normal range.

The only thing that you need to be extremely careful of is do not give Nurofen on an empty stomach as it can lead to ulcers. Always give nurofen with food/milk.

Thanks all. I gave panadol and I think he's starting to cool down a bit now.
Sometimes you just need a little reassurance, you know?

Can give both but generally better to space both out to allow better coverage and to see what works better.

A normal temp can be up to 38 degress for a child.

37.9 is just a tad high, they say anything above 37 is a temp. I usually give my LO panadol for temp, and nurofen for pain. I have't done both at the same time but I know you can do that.

Sorry, I should have clarified myself a bit better, I should have said in the same day, not the same time!

You can give panadol and neurofen at the same time. By giving both at the same time, you get a better and longer relief for pain.

The way panadol and neurofen work is completely different - neurofen will only decrease a fever if the fever is caused by pain.
