How do you bring on your period?

I usually use Primolut. I haven't had a natural period in about 2 years, my last one was induced with Primolut a year ago.

I know we're supposed to have a minimum of 3 periods a year, so I need to bring one on. I've made an appointment with my doc, but I was curious what other women use to bring one on?

I know acupuncture can bring it on as well, but I don't have the money for regular treatments yet, so nasty chemicals it is

i tried acupuncture once and while it gave me period cramps for a day, it didn't actually bring AF on so I had to go the chemical route.
I can't be much help sorry as I only had AF MIA that one time.
Maybe you could try a once off acupuncture?
    Good luck hun x

One treatment of acupuncture isn't really enough at all. I have had a cycle corrected (non PCOS, had very heavy periods for an extended period of time) before in one treatment but conditions like this need a bit more. You can get cheaper acupuncture at some of the teaching schools. I'll see if I can get more details for you if you're interested, I know someone who worked there. If you have extras health cover you may be able to get a bit back too. I get $27 off a treatment with Australian Unity.

If you know of a school in WA that'd be very handy Kelly Acupuncture brought on my periods a few years ago, but that was going twice a week for about 4 months - expensive!

My gyno put me on the contraceptive pill for 1 week (2 pills a day) as I have PCOS and after my miscarriage waited months for cycle to return.
