Has anyone done this with their child before?
I have a friend (hello, Rah!) who has instructed us on this and we have been practicing it with DD (5yo) for 3 weeks. I was wondering if any of you have done this and if there are any positive stories anyone can share?
LOL, I was tossing up whether or not to delve into it in initial post. Search for 'Jane Goulding Sleeptalk' and you will get to the website.
From the school of hypnotherapy, it is a program designed to reassure children using the power of suggestion while they are in the 'lighter' phase of sleep. It's meant to build their self esteem by reassuring them they are loved, they are lovable and they are capable. Once you have used that foundational message for a good couple of months you can start using specific suggestions to assist with things like bed wetting (which is why we're doing it) or mobility or speech etc.
Wow, sounds interesting. When I check on our DD before going to bed I tell her out loud that i love her & to sleep well & stay in her bed all night (she still comes and sleeps with us!)
Snacks, how are you going with this? I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. Hypnotherapy is very powerful, I used it for hypnobirthing and my hubby has studied it too so he recorded our own meditation for our water birth. I might chat with him about recording one for DS to get him to sleep through the night and we are also about to start night toilet training so it could be good for that too.
