    I did it, finally!!!

Well I finally bit the bullet & joined weight watchers. I had my initial meeting Sat morning and today was my first day and it was an epic fail!! Due to b/f I have to eat 40 pro points. I've eaten all day & only got 28 points. It will get better as I get used to it & learn what I can/can't eat.

So has anyone else joined up or a member & want to help/support each other.

Guess i'm searching for an online chat/support.

Hi Dan! I'm doing WW at the moment as well. I was on 40 points as well but now I've introduced solids I've dropped back to 33. I use the iPhone app to track and find it wonderful. I've lost 4.9kg officially so far, down to 65kg from 69.9kg at frost weigh in. But I was 72.2kg before I had DS2 and 75kg at my heaviest. I go to meetings on Tuesdays This is my third time at weight watchers and my most successful. I first joined before kids and then fell pregnant with DS1, I joined briefly after he was born but didn't stick with it. I'm coeliac and some of my gluten free stuff is very points heavy so I never have a problem using up my points! I'm also exercising twice a week (Jazzercise classes) and I think this is helping a lot too. I never stress about not eating all my points, especially if I've eaten a lot of "free" fruit and veg. If you're not hungry I wouldn't worry too much!

I've just been on holidays for a week (Fiji ) so haven't tracked but I was pretty good, except for the ****tails lol!

Yay you Dan. I'm about to hit the gym this week but need to do something eating wise as well. Is it something that you can do without it being a monumental pain in the whatsit? Its hard enough getting my family to eat at the moment, and I'm already cooking two different meals every second night so there's no way I could go to three meals! Is it "real" food, or the lite'n'easy type thing of frozen prepared food.

Lulu it is real food. I was actually really surprised. DH & I are both doing it (only I signed up officially so DH is just doing the same thing as me). It is taking me alittle bit to get my head around the whole propoint value of food/meals but I have been given a 2 week menu as a starter, a mini cook book and I also brought a meals cookbook which pretty much explains how to break down each meal.
Tonight we have baked fish and steamed vegies/rice so the kids had fish fingers and vegies/rice while we had the fish fillet. For the kids I'm not changing theirs - they can have mine if they like or a breakfast/sandwich/noodles like normal for lunch.
Dinner will be they will have whatever we eat because they don't eat it anyways, LOL!!!
Some of the food looks delish!!! Tomorrow I'm having bacon & eggs on toast with tomatoes, lunch is apple & banana pancakes and then dinner is a chicken stirfry. Snacks will be fruits/yoghurt/WW snacks.
I have joined unlimited which has given me access to as many meeting as I like, etools & iPhone app.

Amanuet - So if my little boy is 8 months & eating three meals a day could I drop down a few points too? I'm so scared that I will loose my supply.

A tip for you Liviam, if you are struggling to meet your points allocation, use full fat dairy and butter etc - easy way to get your points without eating extra. It's really important that you do use you daily amount of points because the program wont work if you undercut it all the time. When I was a WW Leader years ago I had women complain all the time that they weren't losing weight - but if you asked them how many 'points' they were eating each day, they were always well under. They thought if they ate less points, then they would lose more weight and lose it quicker. good luck!

Todays diet is looking like I'm going to have about 35 - 38 points - much happier. Just need to do a lot more planning and tweaking.

Trillian thanks for the tip on using full cream milk/butter etc. I defintiely do not want to undercut my points - I want to do this properly.

Well I'm on Day 5 and DH & I are loving it. The food is delish and we don't feel like we are on a diet at all. Tomorrow morning is my first weigh in - so nervous. We have been really good eating our points and not being naughty. I love that I could have a tim tam and hot chocolate at MG yesterday without going over my points so I dont' feel like I'm missing out on anything either.
It is just us learning how to eat properly and what quantities and serving sizes. I know I'm only Day 5 but we are really liking it.

    How is everyone else going?

Thanks ladies. So far I've dropped another 1kg . Best thing is i don't even feel like I'm on a diet. I've just changed how much and what I'm eating. The food is delish!!!

We had muffins, pikelets and banana bread today and have frozen it in portions. Even the kids are loving the food.
