    School night birthday party

Would you let your 8/9/10 year old go to a birthday party from 7-9pm on a Sunday night.
Its outdoors in day light savings time so still light out... first night of daylight savings so won't feel like 9 itms ....

    So would your child go?

Probably not for my 9 year old... He'd be trying to catch up on sleep all week. If it was 6-8 I probably would, as this would mean he could be home, calmed down and in bed by 9.

Probably not. Depends on if it was a good friend or not. I'd question why the party couldn't be on a Saturday, or Sunday during the day, or another weekend if that one is full. Kind of late IMO for a kids party.

It is technically 6-8 but daylight saving changes that day so the time changes to 7-9

Eta I'm also leaning towards no...

What's your child like with late nights? I would let Liebs go, especially as it would be "really" 8pm not 9, and on the arrangement that he goes straight to bed when he gets home, no messing around. But Liebs is often awake until 9pm on a school night (albeit usually in bed) with no real ill effects, he just doesn't need as much sleep as others, and therefore doesn't ever sleep in either.

Nope. My DD1 is 9, and a party finishing at 9 would mean she wouldn't get to bed before 10 after winding down, showering, teeth etc. Too late for a school night!

I'd let them go but pick them up early or take them to school later the next day.

My 10 year old has scouts that finishes at 9. And she's usually in bed at 7:30.

My kids are in bed at 830 but the 9 yr old stays up reading till 9 (often later against my wishes lol)

Then I'm sure it would be fine. I'm sure there is a genuine reason why they've chosen that time slot. And it wouldn't be to inconvenient the guests

It depends which child. DS1 is a night owl who is often awake reading when I'm ready to go to bed. He would be fine with a late party.
DS2 is usually asleep by 7.30 and he would be tired the next day.

What state are you? It's not school holidays or pupil free day the next day is it?

Not on a school night. Fri or sat, yeah.
