DD1 turns 11 in April next year, so she's at the age where everything is starting to change & develop. So this could be normal, but I didn't experience it, so I'm not so sure.
She has a very hard lump, behind her nipple. Its pretty painful too. i remember having some pain at that age, but no lumps. Its about pea size.
Is that normal or should it be checked out? I told her we'd leave it for a few days & see what happens, but I need reassurance
It could very well be her breasts starting to develop, at that age I had the same thing happen (small lump under each nipple and pain which came and went) and my mum explained it was my breasts starting to form.
If she is worried about it and/or the pain doesnt start to ease, I would go for a quick trip to the GP just for a check over to be sure
Sounds like a breast bud aka thelarche. Entirely normal development of the pubescent breast, usually occurs during the ages of 8 and 11. It is not unusual for one breast bud to form before the other, but I expect you will see the right side develop a similar bud in the next few months. I would not be concerned at all, your DD is just growing up
My DD1 had this 4 yrs ago. It was breast buds developing. One developed faster than the other but the other quickly caught up. She constantly complained of pain and would cry if she bumped them.
