    Question Glandular fever

I'm just wondering how long it took for those who have had it to recover?

Its been 13 days, i thought i was getting better but seems to have flared up again (stuffed up, swollen gland and very very tired)

My house has been severely neglected, i've had to try keep myself away from both the kids so they don't get sick but so hard to do when they are both very demanding. I have my BFF's birthday bbq this weekend i'd hate to be sick then and possibly have to miss it

It took a good 2 to 3 weeks for me to get over the worst of it. I'm pretty sure its a long term thing though, that can actually hang around for 12 to 18 months from my understanding. You might feel ok during that time, but more tired than usual.
    I'd google it & have a read.

I was a couple of weeks too and even now when i get sick i tend to be a little more run down and tired than others... the Dr advised me that would happen though.

I had it as a teenager and it toke a month or so for the sore thoat etc to ease but I was tired for a long while after. Glandular Fever can cause chronic fatigue so make sure you get lots of rest, that house work isn't going anywhere.

You really need to take it easy LMS. Can someone help you with house stuff?

I've been resting as much as i can. I did however over do it big time yesterday, i needed to take the kids to the doctors and because i catch buses i had lots of walking plus carrying DS so that would explain how i feel today

DP said he will clean the house tonight.

It took me about 6 weeks to get over it initially. Even now, 2 years later, I still get very tired for no particular reason.

I had it as a teenager. I ended up having to get my appendix removed at the same time. I just remember it was an awful time. I was so tired and so unwell for about 6 weeks all up.

I had it in my late teens and got bug after bug after bug I was so run down. I was pretty sick for a good 2 - 3 months then improved slowly. Everyone kept telling me I'd get chronic fatigue, and whilst I did slow down and feel tired a lot, I tried not to listen as I didn't want to be convinced I would get it/have it, if that makes sense? It was tough, and that was as a teenager and I took a couple of months off work, I can't imagine how tough it must be with two littlies and a household to take care of go easy on yourself okay
