    Bedtime?

What is bedtime on a school night in your home?
    And on a non-school night?
What time do they get up in the morning? Do you have to get them up for school or are they up before you?
And how old are your children?

    Re: Bedtime?

Ds1 and ds2 bedtime is 8.30 and they wake around 7am. They are 7 and 8. My twins who are 5 go to bed an hour earlier and wake around 7 too.

DD1 is 6 DD2 is 4. Week nights bedtime is 7pm. Last year I had to wake DD1 up, so far this year they have been getting up about 6.45-7 when they hear me getting out the shower or getting DD3's breakfast ready

Weekends bedtime is 7.30-8 if we arent out somewhere. DD1 gets to stay up 15-20 mins later on friday nights as a treat, she went through a phase of resenting the fact taht DD2 was doing things with me during the day while she was at school so we set the friday 'stay up' to balance things out for her

School nights (sun, mon, tue, wed, thur)

DS 11 (grade 5) To bed at 7.30, 1 hour of reading quietly and/or journaling so lights out at 8.30. He wakes around 7am
DD 7 (grade 2) To bed and lights out at 7.30, wakes up anywhere from 7am onwards usually once DH and I are up and about.

    Fri, sat

"whenever" but usually 8.30-9.30 depending on the day and what has been happening or what is happening the following morning.
They still wake about the same time.

Our Alarm is set for 7am, by the time we're out of our bedroom DS is already up and eating breakfast 99% of the time. DD its more like 70% of the time she's up before us and the other times we have to get her up, although she's usually awake and just laying in bed.

We have huge bedtime issues in my house. In a perfect world, 15 and 14 year olds bedtime is anywhere between 9.30 and 10.30pm but 10yo goes to bed at 8.30. It doesn't work that way though They all get up at 7am. 10 yo and 15 you are the easiest to wake, 14 yo needs to be dragged out of bed.

DD1 aged 6 at the moment goes to bed at 7 and reads til 7.30, when school readers start coming home, she'll read to us then go to bed.
DD2 aged 4 goes to bed at 7.
Both get up at 7, they're not allowed up til then, but are often awake before that.

DD1 - 5 years - 7pm very night, not so strict on weekend but still bedtime is the same. Needs to be woken usually at 7 for school, otherwise wakes herself at around 8-9am.

DD2 - 2 years (in 5 days ) - feed and into bed immediately after DD1. She is usually asleep between 8-8.30am. Wakes anywhere between 5.30am and 8am! There is no rhyme or reason or predicting what time she will wake and get up on any given day, but the the stars she knows how to turn the telly onto Tom and Jerry!

    Bedtime?

DD 2yrs goes to bed between 5.30pm-7pm generally around the 5.30pm mark. But doesn't matter what time she goes to bed will wake at 4.30am (and overnight as well) and might resettle in our bed until 5.30am-6am. Play school on my iPad so mummy can lay in until at least 6am =lifesaver!

DS's 6 and 9 in bed at 7:30 to read for 30mins and then lights out.
    Weekends 8:30ish.
Both early risers regardless of what time they go to bed.

My 4 year old goes at 7:30, wakes up about 7:30 or I wake her at 7:45.
6 yr/old reads from 7:30 til near 8:00, has to be woken in the morning and dragged out of bed (so not a morning person).
Non school nights they stay up til after 8, maybe 8:30ish depends on how we're doing for time.

6yo bed at about 7:30. He does his reader, then looks at his own book. Up at about 7.

4yo 7pm, and sometimes I have to wake her to get DS to school on time!

Miss nearly 7 goes to bed between 6.30 and 7. Doesn't matter what night it is, unless we're out somewhere/have company....I'm on my own a lot, the timeout is important.
She and DS get up early. Any time between 5:30-6am. Thankfully they don't wake me and get their own brekkie.

    Re: Bedtime?

I aim for bed time for my 6, 3 & 2 yr old to be 7pm. It can be give or take depending on how the evening went but that is when 'bedtime' is in my head. School, Kinder or weekend doesn't make a difference. They wake up between 6:30am & 7am. Will amuse themselves if we're lucky for a short while before they're asking for milk and breakfast.

At 2, 4, 7 & 10 all mine go to bed at 8. If still asleep I wake the big 3 at 7.15. DD1 is usually up before then, but not always.

Mine are hard to settle & need everything in the house off to sleep, especially DD3, so thats what happens. Weekends are rarely any different because one late night affects our whole week. Holidays are pretty free & easy depending on their moods & whats happening.

    Oh boy.

I'm on my own a lot at night (DP is a shift worker) and DD2 (aged 2) is a complete nightmare to get to sleep. Somewhere between 9pm-10pm. That's without a day nap. Hasn't had one of those for at least 12 months.

DD1 (aged 5) used to be a champion sleeper. Asleep on the dot at 7.30pm every night. But now she resents me spending so long getting DD1 to sleep and will stay awake so that she gets the last cuddles so often isn't asleep either till 10pm. I'm waiting for school exhaustion to kick in.

If I let her, DD2 would sleep till 9.30am. Obviously the later she sleeps the harder she is to get to bed.

I'm setting the alarm for 7am and getting them up at 7.30am.

If they were both asleep by 8pm, I think I'd organise myself a ticker tape parade. Really need them to be asleep earlier as I'm studying too and it's pretty hard to pick up the books at 9pm after a 14 hour day.
