    I just don't eat...

At the moment I have no appetite, I don't feel hungry or the need to eat.

The only time I'll eat is when I'm with someone and they eat, then I'll feel like I have to ... or ... it's part of a eat or miss out situation... for example my routine at work is that lunch van comes around at 10am so while she is there I grab a sandwich... But that only happens 3 days a weeks... If I miss her I tend to wait on lunch till I've finished then I figure I'll wait for dinner... If I'm home then there is no hurry or time limit so I don't rush and miss so many meals

I have no idea what is going on and it's certainly not going to help with my weight loss goal but I'm just not hungry

No idea on what to do with myself... Anyone else been in this position???

I've only ever been like that when I'm sick, but I was watching Supersize v Superskinny the other day. The superskinny lady was basically existing on buckets of tea every day When she was forced to swap meals with the Supersize lady, she had to choke down the food for the first couple of days, but after that she found she actually started to get hungry - she was amazed, because she hadn't felt hunger for so long!

Maybe this could be a great time to set out an eating plan that you're happy with - sugar free, GAPS, paleo, whatever - and force yourself to eat at proper times; then you can train yourself to be eating right and at the right times, without having to fight old habits at the same time

I am the same as you... I hardly feel hungry I only eat because I force myself and that's only a meal or two a day...

I often feel like this. I could easily go a meal a day I think. The more I eat, the more often I feel hunger. I'm pretty sure your stomach expands and shrinks depending on how you portion your food, maybe that's it?

*shrug* Are you healthy? If you're lacking energy or nutrients then obviously you need to address that, but really, many of us eat more than we need to anyway. Do you have a sitting down job? If you're not expending lots of energy, why would you need it?

If you wanted to eat more, maybe is there room in your schedule for a bit more physical activity? Fit in a walk here and there, and maybe your body will start to ask for the kilojoules.

There's always conditions that suppress appetite (thyroid? Or am I making that up) lol, disclaim disclaim, but if you are healthy maybe there's no reason to change. Make sure you're drinking enough at least though.

ETA: Just wanted to clarify I agree with Marydean below; I'd say loss of appetite is different to 'never been a big eater'.

Loss of appetite is something you should check out with your GP. Low iron levels is a common suspect.

I agree with Marydean, it might be time to see your GP and maybe have a blood test, there are a few things which can cause appetite loss.

Thankfully I have improved recently, I am eating more, but I still have my days where I am I just not interested... I must admit a lot of time I'm eating because my son asks me to sit at the dinner table next to him or because I think I should eat something even though I'm not hungry.

I do think a visit to the GP is in order, I just need to put myself first at some point and do it.
