Oh bugga! Hope he gets over it quickly, I was the lucky one in the family to get the first cold last week, so far no one has decided to follow suit...for now! I hate winter for this reason!
...well, it's not even technically winter yet (we have another four days!!!) and DS2 is at home with DH. DH rang to let me know that DS2 just lost half his brain matter - well at least that's what it looked like when he sneezed. Eeeuw! Happy to be at work, fingers crossed it's a bit nicer when I'm at home with him tomorrow.
It's funny you know,we had the onion in his room at night and the vaporiser on in the family room during the day over the weekend (I don't like leaving it running at night, thus the onion) and I thought woohoo! we've blipped this one. He happily goes off to childcare this morning, without a runny nose and looking like his usual sunny self, and then I pick him up two hours later because he's full of green snot and just wants cuddles.
We'll be keeping him home for the week I guess.
I just found this quote "green snot in the morning is no cause for warning!"![]()

Yep, we're on our second already. The joys!
I still don't understand why green is worse/more contagious than anything else. My oldest has a cold - clear snot (has never had green snot, ever). Clearly contagious, because my youngest also caught it - green snot (always has green snot with a cold).
I like winter for the snuggly nights but the colds get ridiculous.
Hope your little man is all better soon![]()
But apparently green snot isn't so bad - as long as it's only green in the morning and not continuously green.
It's green from overnight as the bacteria builds up and then it goes all disgusting in the morning. If you get rid of the snot and can "maintain it" so it stays clear. I bought the little fess nasal spray with the sucker to get the snot out. DS2 thinks it's hilarious and giggles each time. It is truly the most gross yet most effective way of keeping his little snogger clean. I swear I almost vomit each time - particularly as he then asks to see his snot....
