The box says 1 month to 2 years 0.02ml. The man at the chemist said just give 0.01ml for a 10 day old.

Can I use this for a 10 day old? Is he right?

Could you have a chat with your child health nurse or midwife from the hospital perhaps?

Tasha I used it for DD1 but not until after a month so not sure if you can use it earlier .

But I am drinking peppermint tea and chamomile tea and finding that helps with Bub , I did it with DD1 as well ..

Really? I won't be happy if I can't use it! I have so many numbers I don't know who to call.

I'm pretty sure it's fine. We used it early on the Drs recommendation. It's Not something you can overdose on. It can be given at each feed.

I didn't use mine that I was given.

I only ever used infants friend because it was natural and could be used from birth so I figured it must be fairly ok for bubs.

Dd always loved the taste and really calmed her tummy down.

That may just be personal preference.

I've only ever used it from a month old. Our chemist specifically questioned me about my DDs age before they would sell it to me.

I'll have to disagree here - you can overdose on anything, even water. People on ecstasy can die from water overdose as the drug makes them think they are thirsty and they keep drinking and drinking and drinking. Apparently.

Anyway that's not the point. Point is, anything can be dangerous at a high enough dose.

I used it with both mine - DS from 4 weeks, mind you he was born 3.5 weeks early - it worked a treat for him and would really help bring the wind up, I did try Infants Friend and some other natural remedy type wind drops first, I think they were Braurs? But they made no difference...
With DD I used it prior to 4 weeks, however it didn't really seem to make much difference for her but she was a spewy little thing

I used it with my DS since he was 4 weeks old, I was told not to use it for a baby less than that age....

I used it with DS2 from about 7 days old. If the pharmasist has said it's fine, then go for it, if you feel it would help. I know I was willing to try anything that wasn't dangerous with DS2 to help him to settle.

My SIL is a pharmacy tech. She made a phone call last night and they confirmed I shouldn't use it this young. Not happy, I will take it back today and get infants friend.

Oh it's for wind too. Bub seems to be sucking in air as she feeds, but her face is smoothed up against my boob so i can't see how she is sucking the air in

having baby s bum lower than their head can help to reduce wind. when ds was bad, taking him off the breast a couple of times during the feed and sitting him up allowed the air bubbles to be released and then he would have more milk. That was my theory on what it did, but it did seem to help. I had ds almost in sitting position to feed with his bottom quite a bit lower than his head - but still chest to chest.

Sometimes babies struggle with the flow in the early days. Trying different positions such as laid back nursing can be very helpful.
