    Feedback on Travel cots?

DH and I often go away camping (camper trailer), however we now have DD3 added to the mix. Usually it's just the 2 of us +3 kids and its a tight fit. We have now purchased a tent that joins onto the camper for the older 3, and bub will be with us.

We would really like to avoid taking a porta cot due to space issues, but been looking into travel cots instead.

Has anyone got any feedback on the Phil and Teds traveller, Baby Bjorn, Kindercot or Magic bed?

Phil and teds ALL THE WAY!!! it is much sturdier then the pop up type ones. It is made for camping type use. I have used ours for three years now (dd3yo still fits in it) We have taken it camping, to the beach, hotels, friends houses everywhere!! My sister travels internationally with her children and it packs into her suitcase!!

We have a kinderkot and it's been a total fail with our kids. They get really put off by the roof over the top of them and wake up after a short nap and wont go back in it again.

I honestly think it just depends on the child. We had one, think it was the phil and teds and our DS1 absolutely hated it. He was not quite 1 when we used it on an interstate trip and we got rid of it soon after we returned I like that it was compact and sturdy etc.

I just bought a Kinder Kot off gumtree to use in our camper. I have read good & bad about them. Since I only paid $45 for it, figure if it doesn't work will on sell it. It's getting its first try in next week or so

We've got two The Phil and Teds, which DD1 loved and used happily until she was almost 2, and the Quicksmart Travel Cot which DD2 loves and we bought it cause DD2 didn't like the P&Ts!

I'd prefer the Quicksmart for size (for the child's benefit that is), ease of setting up and comfort. It's a lot bulky for travel though, more like a normal portacot I guess but it is lighter and once setup, not as big. The P&TS is great for traveling and small spaces. Not all kids like the confined feeling though. Maybe hire or borrow one, if possible, and see what your LO thinks.

We have the older style P&T and absolutely love it. For the lovely ladies who has issues with how enclosed it was- P&T was listening and the new model is all mesh sides
