Cost of a taxi... & Perth PT advice

I'm doing public transport, in Perth, alone... for the first time ever, in 2 weeks. I'm nervous as hell!

Taking a taxi 18kms would be stupid wouldn't it :/

Anyone got any advice? I fly in at about 10.30pm to Perth Airport. Bus doesn't leave East Perth Station til 8am. What do I do? Sleep at the airport? Is East Perth Station open & could I hang around there over night?
And getting to the station before 8am... doable?

I'm really not sure what to do... & what would be the safest thing to do :/

Never mind the taxi, I can get the shuttle bus to the station... Just need to decide where's the safest place to stay? Anyone?

Pretty sure there's a cheap motel right near the airport, can you use that?

I think there is accommodation nearby. I'd take a taxi though if it were me!

There is a bed & breakfast near the airport. Maybe I can do that then the taxi in the morning. If I was to get taxi at about 6.30, I'd get to the station in plenty of time wouldn't I? I'd just need to get the taxi to the B&B as well.

Do taxis take eftpos these days? Yes it's been that long...

Get a taxi to the motel, there are quite a few near there that aren't dives but are still cheap. There is (used to be called) a Comfort Inn about 5 minutes down the road. Should cost no more than $20 each way. Yes, taxis take eftpos. Make sure you book the cab in advance for the morning, but if you say you are going to the airport, they are usually pretty reliable.

I'll be coming from the airport. To the bus/train station to get the bus home.

Just didn't want to spend any more money than I had too. As it is I feel guilty that I'm doing it! Add $100 or so for 6 or 7 hours in a motel... There are backpackers near the bus station though. But its so late when I get in!
I am thinking back packers might be the better option. Taxi to there when I get in & walk to the station in the morning. Then sleep all the way home!

Yep, I think I'll get a taxi to back packers near bus station. Its only a 5 minute walk in the morning then Only $45 a night.

    Feel a bit safer now!

Better book the bus home though!

how much would it cost to go straight home by taxi?

is it only 18 km home or is that a typo?

Not really. Mum reckons I'd be safer at the station than the back packers. She stayed at billabong, the priciest one, & said it was still pretty grotty etc. the one I looked at had shocking reviews :/

I really don't know what to do. It's only 6 or so hours.

I'm even considering hiring a car to sleep in... lol. saves public transport at night (which I will admit... terrifies me!)
