I've just been to check on DD before going to bed and there she is, spread sideways halfway down the bed, covers kicked off, pillows nowhere in site. She's in a Queen bed and used to the space, the different ways I find her every night cracks me up! Over Christmas at the inlaws we saw just how used to a big bed she was, she came off her little camp bed and wound up under our bed, DH got her out but by morning she was on the floor halfway to the bathroom lol.
Anyone on my fb might have seen how she slept today. She never *ever* goes to sleep on her own, especially during the day. Today was just too hot though, and she did so much running around, she came inside to read instead and fell asleep sitting up on the couch. She started to slip sideways, half woke up and realised she was sleeping and didn't want to be so tried getting off he couch, and fell asleep halfway! Body on the couch, feet on the floor!
I used to sleep on my front with my bum in the air. Not so comfy anymore!
DS is a mover and grooves. I hear him banging the side of his car bed all night. Often I find him with his head at the foot of the bed. Tonight he is twisted in his doona (the ac is on - it a million degrees here).
Dd1 doesn't really move much, but when she does, it's pretty violent lol. I never ever volunteer to sleep with her.
Dd2 is used to the king sized bed. She is all over it. Usually on her belly with her knees tucked up or star fishing
DS requests the biggest most plump pillow every night to the point his almost sitting up also requires two of the plump pillows. When I go to bed his halfway down the mattress sleeping on no pillows and his comfort blanket draped across his neck. Rest of his body completely exposed. He moves around a lot and just about always ends up back in the original position after each rolling around trying to get comfy.
DD is a sideways sleeper, or a hang half the body of the bed sleeper or and upside down sleeper or a sleep in mum n dads bed sleeper. You get the drift....
Dd2 9 weeks hardly moves at all and I wake several times to check she's still alive.
Lol danita, 10wo DS is a pretty still sleeper too, once he's asleep. In the beginning he thrashes around and grunts and snorts, I have no idea how it helps him get to sleep!
The child's pose is what I used to do. I think it's called that because children are much better proportioned for it to be comfortable lol. There's a little boy at DD's daycare that sleeps like that for nap time every day, so cute!
i never knew it was called that (just googled it), but both mine do the child's pose - bum up in the air. however if ds is in our bed he wants to put his feet in the back of my pj pants, yeah not comfortable for me.
Spock is boring! She either starfishes, all spread out on her back, or is on her side.
Dh often tells me he used to sleep with bum way up in the air. He physically can't even get in that position anymore!
DD 3 sleeps, sideways, upside down,
Feet against the wall, starfish,
She even goes through phases of sleeping with random objects. she sleeps with her swimmers in her hand or a swim nappy, a tennis ball or a box chalk etc.. At the moment her thing is her Santa hat.
She loves it!
Tonight DD is sleeping sideways with her head on the pillows that are next to her mattress. Her mattress is on the floor next to our bed. I think she still getting used to being able to move around a lot more after sleeping in the Amby for 14 months.
Ds all over the place we even put a pool noodle in his toddler bed to stop him falling out of bed he will have feet up on wall or bum in air star fishing or curled up but he has to go to sleep with his puppy teddies and his dummy
Dd is still a challenge so I'm happy with anything during day she is in back in rocker but at night either on her tummy or side
