Without kids I would go to Borneo. With kids I would ring up Richard Branson and see if I could have Necker Island for a couple of weeks (you did say money was not an issue right )
Reality is we are off to Stinking hot Mildura next week.
Yes I am in a dreamy mood... My reality is surviving the school holidays in hot hot darwin which I love but its wet season and we are re climatising. How I so would love a holiday.
With kids, we would give Queensland a good hard flogging for 2 or 3 weeks, balancing fun parks with P&Q in some of the prettier natural areas. Of course since this is a fantasy there would be no mossies, sunburn, traffic jams or car sickness.
Without kids - we would fly somewhere cold and snowy with an olde worlde romantic prettiness to it. Don't particularly care where provided we stay in luxury accommodation.
I don't ask for much...
ETA - Dansta - I hear you sista on the Darwin Wet Season - think I had a similar fantasy many many times!
With kids - Port Douglas - wrong time of year to go though with stingers I think... but in my dream holiday there wouldn't be any stingers.
Internationally - New York. My favourite city in the world. I'd take my children ice skating in Central Park and shopping at the best toy store in the world, FAO Schwarz.
Also, a quick stop over at the Galapogos Islands.... it's been my dream forever.
I am 4.5 weeks away from going on my dream holiday!! A two week kid-free road trip in the USA Starting in Las Vegas then making our way to Tijuana then up the pacific coast to San Francisco.
And it seems I am doing my kids trip later in the year as well - I have always wanted to take them to Australia for a week or so and the current plan is to go to Sydney for Christmas. Except in my dream the city is half empty, minimal traffic and the queues are short
