I have no idea about crafty stuff for an 80yo! But when my Papa turned 80 in March all the grandkids (5 of us) put money together and got him a really nice watch engraved with all our names and the two great-grandkids. He loved it
I would be thinking of what she likes and what she likes to do.
For instance, my mum loves gardening and every year asks for plants for her bday and Xmas. She doesn't like us spending too much money on her. So I would get her a plant or gardening item.
I was going to say a photo book with old photos from your family.
Or a photograph of the whole family if you can. I had a friend who hired a photographer to capture her grandma's actual party, since the whole family was attending, and then had a few of the nicer photos framed.
We got the great grandkids to design a family tree for my Grandma's 80th. Mum bought a canvas & DD1 drew the tree on it in a swirly pattern. Then we got green ink & fingerprinted a few leaves around it. Put names of all kids, grandkids & great grandkids, & a few photo's on the branches.
My mum is in her 80s and she loves been taken out for morning or afternoon tea.
This is especially good as my dad has died and she doesn't really get to go out and do things like this.
Even doing girly things if she likes that kind of thing
