    I would be thinking of what she likes and what she likes to do.

    For instance, my mum loves gardening and every year asks for plants for her bday and Xmas. She doesn't like us spending too much money on her. So I would get her a plant or gardening item.

    A plant like a rose is a good idea. Or one of those orchids that last for ages.

    Perfume, a nice craft bag to put her things in, a vase, a beautiful teacup and saucer set, a mohair rug, a photo frame.

    That's all I can think of for now- my grandparents both lived til their mid 90s. So I got good at finding presents.

    I was going to say a photo book with old photos from your family.

    Or a photograph of the whole family if you can. I had a friend who hired a photographer to capture her grandma's actual party, since the whole family was attending, and then had a few of the nicer photos framed.
