Enjoy a day of silence (well sort of) getting to know my new baby![]()
What are YOU going to to do once the school bell rings, and your little darlings are safely ensconced in another year of mental improvement?
Will you:
Put all the toys away and then stare in wondrous silence at how they stay put away for an entire 6 hours? Or pull out all the ones you've been dying to play with since Christmas?
Get your stash of gourmet chocolate out and eat it in full view of no-one cos the house is blissfully empty?
*Finally* read the christmas magazine you bought back at the start of December?
Get drunk on two shots of tequila (because you never drink, right?) and then in a fit of bravado open the credit card statement?
Starfish naked on the lounge room floor while singing every explicit song you've had to suppress for the last seven weeks?
Or something else???
Enjoy a day of silence (well sort of) getting to know my new baby![]()
Hmmm, will spend some quiet and relaxing time with DD2 and crazily ponder TTC again
Probably sit at home pondering the fact my baby has started prep...but smile that I still have another 5 years until DD3 leaves my best for school
Enjoy the quiet in the car between dropping them off and getting to work.
I am going to be the one using your suggestion of downing the tequila prior to opening the cc statement. Seriously money just flys out of my wallet during January!
I'll just be happy to go to the toilet in peace.
Enjoy not having the kids from next door living in my home.
Go to the gym every day without having to fit it around DH's schedule or book creche
Make appointments and go to them without arranging babysitting
Mentally prepare myself for the after-school activities which are just ridiculous this term.
I am going to go back to school myself. My Diploma course resumes the day the kids go back after a 2mth break over Christmas. I will also be back to work 2 days a week. I like school holidays cause I don't have to go anywhere LOL.
I wont get my real relaxation till term 2. I have lost my day off due to no Foundation on Wednesdays. Not that the day was used much for relaxation, but running around kid free could be counted as relaxation these days.
Astrid it's the same for me here, although it will be nice to have one on one time with dd2 it would normally be my running around with no kids day and a chance to watch one episode of a tv show that dh doesn't like and the kids can't see.
Looking forward to getting back to the gym and not constantly being asked for food. I can't keep up!
Enjoy all the places that are now blissfully unbusy. The museum, the art gallary, the parks, the beaches, the pools!
It is our eldest daughter's would be first year of school but will be learning at home so business as usual around here. Busy and messy and interesting and fun![]()
Enjoy the stillness and silence.
Not hear someone bellow "MUMMMM" for a whole six hours
Drink a hot coffee and eat my own toast for breakfast (rather than sharing or ending up eating the kids rejects)
Tidy my house properly for the first time in 8 weeks
I might even take a nap
Cry. A lot.
I hate school going back. Holidays are way better. We sleep in. The days are more relaxed. I spend less money. We go through less food.
The only thing I'm looking forward to is watching DD embrace the next big phase in her life. And sometimes that's sad lol.
Go back to work. And when I'm not at work, go back to needing to keep an eye on dd3 every second of everyday. She likes to destroy when the kids aren't here to **** stir...
I do enjoy the laziness of holidays, not worrying about it being a school night if I wanna stay that bit longer when out. Sleeping in... Sometimes. But I'm so over the CONSTANT mess!!
finally start preparing for the new baby...
I have not done a thing! need to dig out all the baby stuff that was put away after ds finished with it, clean the bassinette, (after I find it!) organise my baby shower (next weekend! eep!) arghhh...I have so much to do in the next 4 weeks (please baby dont come early...)
have been really enjoying the holidays, spending time with DS before he goes off to big boy school, staying up, sleeping in, being lazy etc.. LOL.
We have one child home doing homeschool/distance ed.....so.....Il just be doing what I always do :S lol
