    Question regular cycles after miscarriage

    Hi

I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks on 16 January. I normally have a regular 25 day cylce with ovulation on day 10. I am currently at day 14 and got a positive on the opk and have ovulation signs. I was wondering if it is normal to have a longer cycle after a miscarriage or if I am ovulating late in my normal cycle and whether getting pregnant this cycle because of late ovulation would not be a good idea. I know you should wait for a month before trying again but I really don't think I can and I figure if we weren't trying I probably wouldn't have even known I was pregnant in January.

    Thanks

    Hi hopingsoon

Everyone is different, but yes it isn't unusual that your cycle is a few days out of wak so you could definitely be O'ing a couple of days later than what was normal for you.

    My cycles were always 26 - 27 days - with m/c #1 I think my next one was 30, and with m/c #2 - I had to have a D & C due to missed m/c and it was 5 weeks exactly.

good luck in TTC - but sounds like you now your body well so that is a great start!!

    hello hopingsoon,
firstly sorry for your loss of your baby.
did you mc naturally or have a d&c? from what I have read on here, mcing naturally doesnt screw with your cycles so badly.
my cycle is still all over the place, after my d&c I waited exactly 5 wks till first af, then 26 days, then 30 something days, then the "normal" 28, then another long one and now it has been another 26 day cycle.
I have also read on the bb forums of girls who have conceived with no af in between mc and conception, it has been done, and I doubt you are alone in wanting to try early. I completely understand!
    hope that helps a little.
    good luck!

Well an expert I am certainly not, but the way I understand it is that your first cycle afterwards bascially is all over the place and if its not then I have a BFP hiding under my pillow.... if I was just brave enough to have the test.

    Good luck with it all

hopingsoon, sorry for your recent loss. My ob told me that if you body is ready then you will conceive before your first AF arrives. If it is not then you wont this cycle.

Thanks everyone for your advice and kind words. It appears as though I may have ovulated on day 14 which is really only 4 days later than normal. I guess I don't want to get my hopes up that maybe there is a chance this month. This really is a cruel concept isn't it.

Sorry for your loss hoping soon. My cycles were a little different after m/c and could vary from being shorter to longer, and I found my AF's were all lighter and quicker (which was really good). There's no need to wait for a month after an early m/c - that's just so they can date you easily if you do fall in again quickly. If it happens it only means you'd need a dating scan to ensure they know when you will be hitting the 12 week mark for a NT scan (if you have one with your next pregnancy), so don't stress about that. Good luck.

hi hopingsoon - After each of my miscarriages my AF came exactly 5 wks later but they were missed m/c's and involved a D & C. My OBGYN said to wait until AF so that the uterus was well-nourished for the next prg. I fell in again after my 1st m/c after 2-3 mths but m/c again and since then have been trying for 7 mths. It's so hard, isn't it? Good luck, hun.
