Super sore ribs and lower back pain

I have a very small rib cage (I should wear a size 8 bra but I can't find any) and I think I'm running out of ribcage space. I know that sounds crazy, but every day at around 5:30pm my ribs start killing me (front and back on my right side). It's excruciating and lasts all night.

I also wake up in the morning with an ache in my lower back.

I did have serious hip pain, but I visited a physio and she realigned my pelvis which helped a lot. The thing is, I can't lie on my left side because of my pelvis but if I lie on my right side it puts all my weight on my aching ribs.

Some people have suggested I buy a body pillow and I am starting to think it would be a good idea. Can anyone recommend the best possible body pillow for my condition (rib and back pain) and where I could but it?

Any other suggestions? I tried taking panadeine but I started having restless sleeps and weird dreams.

Sorry to say hun, but it will probably just get worse. My backa nd ribs have been sore for ages. Wehn you look at how you internal anatomy changes during pg, it's not really surprising!! I'm not a small person and I am seriously out of space for bubs.
As for body pillows, you can get them from toys r us, target, babies galore....I can't reccommend one as I don't use one, I just use a few normal pillows stragecially placed!

kuraiza - can totally sympathsise with you hun I too, have been dealing with constant rib pain since about the 24 week mark. When mine gets real bad I feel seriously like my heart is going to stop, it is truly truly horrible. I get it on my right hand side as well; starts at the front and goes all the way around to my spine at the back. The only medication I have taken for it is Mylanta which kinda eased it; didnt go away totally but it did help. I also found I got relief from lying over a fitball and just deep breathing. Hot showers and heat packs I find also help.

Sadly, as kellie said it will probably get worse before it gets better. It is yet ANOTHER one of those lovely pregnancy things we have to put up with - your organs just dont have the same amount of space. I have noticed in the past week or so that the intensity of the pain has eased off - probably due to the fact that my bub has started to drop down.

Re: Body Pillows I never bothered to get one but know you can buy them at Pillow Talk as well. I have been able to manage just with an extra large pillow which I place under my side each night, has helped alot!! My DH gets the ****s because instead of hugging him I hug the pillow haha but yeah if I dont have the pillow under my side I spend the whole night tossing and turning which he hates.

Good luck, hope it eases up for you soon!
