Girls I don't know what I was thinking when I did a Google search for real birth footage. I guess I was just curious having never experienced or seen a birth before. At first I was shocked and thinking to myself, 'what have I got myself in for, how am I going to do that' but mind you I was in tears as I watched the baby arrive and saw the reaction of the parents when they were handled their baby. I guess I am glad I saw this footage as it is helping me prepare my mind what is going to happen in just 5 months time. I would rather be prepared than rudely shocked!
If you wan to check it out and make sure you have a box of tissues before you click the link below!
We had a camera set up out of the way for the birth of our daughter. Photos are one thing but the video is just that much better. The first cry always brings tears to my eyes (we also taped her first cry on our mini recorder) It is such a precious thing to have and look back on. And I think (well hope) she will cherish it when she is bigger
Typical American birth though... No skin-to-skin contact, ob does all the 'work' (apparently), epidural, episiotomy (did you hear him say 'I just have to make a little more room here') and all that suctioning once the baby was born!
opps have to watch it again I don't think I recognised the suctioning...
So typically what is different to an American birth to an Aussie birth (besides the beer in the fridge)?
Awwwww! And didn't look scary at all. I can't wait! Raven - I know what you mean about the OB - I would hope the baby would be put straight on mum's chest, that's what I'd like.
Yep I needed two tissues... what an amazing thing to experience. I can't believe that will be me in 5 months! Just makes me more impatient to meet my little buba!
Oh I cried at the end when they were looking at the baby and saying how beautiful it was.
I would have been telling him to give me my baby though!! jeez!!
I wanted to see a bit more iykwim Yes I have had 3 babies but I have never seen it from the busness end... I want to see what BHL has been talking about all this time!!!
He tells anyone who will listen to him not to go down there lol poor bugger just as he went for a sneek peak with DS my waters broke all over him
Hate to tell you girls mine was nothing like that I was very very vocal I always get told to harness all the energy I am giving to screaming into pushing my babies out.... I think I just hurt there ears to much!!!
Maybe I might try to be peaceful with my last but dont like my chances lol Like DR Phil always says past behaviour is a good indercator of future behaviour....
When I started reading I thought I can't possibly watch that. I'm telling myself that no matter what I won't be able to prepare myself until it actually happens. But no I've changed my mind I'm going to google it now!!
