Question Due date question (long winded pg ramble)

    Hi!
I was just after your opinions regarding some differences in dates on my ultrasounds. Going by my first u/s I'm currently just a little over 15 wks pg. This u/s was an absolute shermozzle (didn't drink enough water, couldn't find anything, had to have internal u/s, forgot to empty bladder, had to have another internal.... eeek) but I've been using this date as my marker. My two subsequent u/s (one at 6 wks and one at 12) were both been within one day different from another and would put me at 17 weeks exactly today. I'm inclined to go with the second date for two reasons:

    1) My belly looks far too big for 15 wks (it's ridiculous, really :P)
    2) The a/f we were using as my lmp was incredibly light and came just 16 days after the af before that. And if I use THAT date as my LMP it matches EDD with the last two u/s.

What do you girls think? I have an appt with my midwife on wed, but I'm keen to find out other opinions.

    Cheers in advance!

Hmmm , do you think your last AF was actually implantation bleeding? How long did it last for?

I would go by your 6 week dating scan, they are pretty accurate. But definitely speak to your midwife about it.

I would go for the furthest away date, because then you have more time before they want to induce you, giving the bub time to decide for itself when to enter the world

Trish: The original lmp was only for 3 days and was lighter than my usual af. Hmmmm.

Hmmm indeed! I'd be inclined to go with the u/s dates, it sounds like it may have been an implantation bleed. I'm no expert though!

Me too!! They'll give you some peace and not try to push you into things you don't want

I'm tempted to use the original date, but I'd love to be further along than that. Plus it mean sooner to my anatomy scan which would bring SO MUCH comfort. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but it all seems to fall into place. Eek. So confused. Maybe that's just pregnancy brain. Hehe.

Well I spoke to my GP and she seems to think I should stick with the earlier date too. Have booked in for my anatomy scan now and will be having it in 2 weeks (when I'll ACTUALLY be 17 weeks or so, hehe).

Bit of pregnancy wishful thinking I guess, to hurry it all up

    Thanks guys!

My 8.5 week and 12 week had different dates - Ob said go with the first scan date and then at the 20 week scan it was spot on with the first date....I know what you mean by wanting it to be the early date
