My 14mth ds has been asleep most of today. I hzd to wake him up to take him to his carer this morning at 715. Apparently about 30 mins after he was there, he'd had a bath and went back to sleep. Then he woke at 12, had a nappy change, and went back to sleep. He woke around 1, then back to sleep at 2 and woke up just now at 4. When he was awake, he just whinged and clinged to me. (I got back from work about 1230). He's whinging now too. He ate some dry crackers earlier but nothing else. He actually had a breastfeed when he work at 1. (he gave up bf at lunch before he turned one). He has a bit of a temperature, and I've just given some baby panadol. He's been dribbling heaps.
Could he be teething? He only has his 4 canines and two-year-old molars left to come thru. Maybe its a canine?
Could be teeth, but could also be a bug. Nina has a bug similar to that at the moment, except she is throwing up as well. Just keep him hydrated, don't worry too much if he doesn't want any food.
It could certainly be teething. The canines and 2yo molars are all really nasty when they come through. It could also be a virus or other illness. Just keep an eye on his temp and look out for a rash, sore ear etc. And of course try and get him to drink plenty. If he doesn't eat much for a few days it is ok, but it's important to keep the fluids up. GL hun.
Could be his teeth or a virus.... I remember when DS was really sick not long ago (what a couple of weeks or something?) and he slept nearly the whole entire day. Let him sleep as much as possible cos thats the best way for them to heal (I think..) DS had a high temp for 5 days with no obvious reason.
We put it down to the fact that he is getting his 2 year molars - but I remember him doing the same for his canines.. they are buggers!!
If he gets bad though, and your instinct is to worry - take him to the docs to be sure.
