Thanks to PCOS, I get a nice little black beard and moustache every couple of weeks - I wanted to know, does anyone else get it? Don't answer if you don't want to, but how bad does it get? My lil moustache can get quite noticeable, and i get black hairs UNDER my chin like a proper beard too! The worst thing is, they seem to grow overnight - one day there's nothing, the next day I look like an old italian man!!
Also, do your partners notice? My DH used to tell me when he noticed, but I'm just too sensitive when he tells me, so he's given up!!
Isn't it horrible. I get the same thing. Ever since being off the pill to TTC back in 2006 I have had this problem . Thank god for waxing. DH has never said anything though. Must be scared he might get a chunk taken out of him lol
hey, i get it aswell . . . and the last few weeks ( odviosally sence falling pregnante) have been worse . . . is there a reason for that ??? hormones playing up a bit more i guess ????
yep. i almost registered for Movember... thanks a lot PCOS!!! but mine is all white fluff (side burns too) but with an occasional rogue black one under the chin. and more noticeable since becoming pg.
I wax at home... have never tried nair cos i have pretty sensitive skin. Bit worried about having a reaction like i have had from some lipsticks and eyeliners.
Girls, if it is any consolation, I never had PCOS and since falling pg with Olivia over 5 years ago, I got the hairy chinny chin chin too. And it has got worse through each pregnancy and is still really bad now. The downy hair I can cope with, but I also get "old lady chin *****les". Nightmare.
Nair works for me, and I also do pluck the spiky ones.........
I haven't tried Nair. I might have to give it a go as getting out to waxing is not that easy with two little munchkins lol. Is it a cream or something??
Yeah, they've got depilatory creams and waxes too - I have used the waxes and prefer them for my eyebrows, but it just hurts too darn much on my upper lip!! Whoever said you get used to the pain never had it done!
I have pretty sensitive skin, but I've found Nair's sensitive cream, as well as the one with baby oil, work fine for me - I generally do it at night so that any redness happens while I'm asleep and is gone by morning!
Yeah I get hair too - upper lip and more recently under my chin. I have been waxing (at the beautician I am too much of a wimp to do it myself!) my upper lip for about 2 years and only started getting my chin done in the last month or so.
I started getting the chin done because DP noticed a few particularly dark hairs and mentioned that I would be rivalling him for a beard soon. I subsequently burst into tears as had only recently been diagnosed with PCOS and the Gynae actually said, "definatily PCOS, could tell by the hair and your weight" (I was around 90kg at the time - October - and am now 85kg). So DP then back tracked fast and said it was hardly noticeable but I didn't believe him and started waxing it.
I have had those rogue black hairs under my chin for years, they probably now number approx 6-8, but I have a tendency to pluck them as soon as I feel them come through. My upper lip has recently being getting darker and darker and I am starting to get self concious so am trying to figure out whether to start waxing or not.
