    bedroom furniture packages

just having a browse at fantastic furniture's website... just thinking out loud (so to speak!) feel free to comment if you like!

PIL have got dd a bed for xmas (she is currently on a mattress on the floor- slowly working our way up from a tolddler bed!) which we havent actually bought yet!

the one ive picked comes in a package, but we dont have the extra $400 to get the whole package atm, so our plans are at tax time to go and buy the rest of the matching furniture for her room.

ive been thinking, it may be a good time to buy furniture for this bubs room as well... (tax time usually gives us at least 4g )

im thinking of buying from the same range 'bounty' for both bedrooms. they have the bed, bedside, tallboy or slim boy, a small bookcase and theres also a lamp table that matches.
dd- bed, bedside, tallboy & bookcase = $617 (since she will already have the bed)
baby- bed, bedside, slimboy & lamptable = $796
that comes to $1400 seperately, but getting one 'package' would make it $1300

is it silly to buy a bed for babies room, even though it will be at least 2 years before s/he uses it? it will be at least 6 months before we need to set the cot up, and im pretty sure it will all fit. the spare bed would get use from my brother who comes to stay.

Also, i figure we could swap and change bits and pieces every now and then between the rooms (im always changing furniture around, so i figure having all matching stuff would be a better option!)

I don't think it's silly to buy a bed. It's not like you'll never use it.

My older kids both have Bounty packages, but in the doubles.
They're great value... but just be careful because the wood is very rough in spots.
I agree with Nelle, it's definitely not silly to buy a bed for the bub.

    Not silly at all.

Just think when you are up doing night feeds with the baby you can lie down on the single bed in the bubs room and breastfeed.

And if it all fits then why not!

as long as you have the space it doesnt matter.
we have been carrying around my single bed for when we had a daughter(which we do now) so she will get that soon
