    Red face Grotty Mummy Moments

Has anyone got any grotty/embarrassing mummy moments to share?

My first bub is 11 wks old and I'm often so distracted i forget to check myself before heading out.

The other day I spent two hours at a cafe then got home and realised I had poo on my top from a poo BEFORE we went to the cafe (!!!), and yesterday I took bub for a walk in the pram and only realised when I got home that I still had a huge flannel stuffed down one bra cup for leakage during earlier breastfeeding from the other side, so I looked like I had one huge lumpy breast !!!!!!

I hope this passes. In the meantime we just have to laugh ....

I haven't had too many of these.
With DS1 I went to the supermarket leaking through my breastpad and noone told me, not even DP. I only found out I was leaking when I felt someone wet on my top when I was packing the groceries in the car. I was so embarrassed.

Yesterday I went out to lunch with food on my top. It was from picking up DS2 to clean him up before we were going and didn't think twice I might have got some on me. My sister didn't tell me I had anything on my top until we were out. I just shrugged it off. I'm proud of myself for not being all embarrassed over it.

A friend of mine went wondering around big W with a boob half hanging out once. She got the bottom in, but nipple was out.

I was silly enough to give Jesse lamington while I was wearing white pants, lol! I went & bought a pair of shorts at an op shop & changed in the car with my sister near wetting her self laughing next to me!

I was at the shops last week with the delicate aroma of baby vomit wafting about me. Was sooo strong too, I hadn't really noticed it until I got to the shops. I actually cut the trip short because I needed to talk to salespeople about a couple of things and couldn't do it knowing I smelled like vomit!

    What a great thread!

My most extreme grotty mummy moment was back in 1995... it was a stinking hot summer's night, not dissimilar to tonight's 30'C minimum temp situation... too hot to cook so DH and I ordered pizza... while we were waiting we settled down to watch a movie... I had my baby on my lap, naked, BFing. I myself was only wearing a nursing bra and undies... I had a towelling nappy draped over my lap incase of an accident... well... what an accident! Before I talk about the poo let me set the scene: We lived in a second story unit... it was about 8pm and as usual we had a load of washing on (we only used fabric nappies back then)... well like I said, I should have listened harder to that little voice of intuition that warned of impending disaster... anyhow, yep, DD was feeding away happily when all of a sudden she did the world's largest blast poo... you know the kind... yellow breast-fed drippy poo that could not be contained... trickling down my leg and threatening the couch... so I gathered her up... and headed for the bathroom down the hall.... but I couldn't get there because a tide of WATER was flowing down the hall toward me! The laundry tub was over flowing!!!! Yikes! I cried out to DH to help... to turn off the machine... to pull the plug in the trough (that I had left in, causing the overflow)... which he did... he raced into the bathroom/laundry (they were combined) to stop the water... but at that point the door bell rang... THE PIZZA GUY!.... forgetting that I was semi dressed and covered in poo I yelled out "coming!"... I moved toward the door but thankfully, at the last minute DH called out "NO! You're not dressed!" (not to mention covered in poo!!!)

So, thankfully I can now say that it was dh who answered the door... and not me... saving myself from total and utter embarrassment!

    These posts are great

I think my "grotty" moments come when I'm eating in public with DS. The other night we went to a restaurant with him & I was picking up pasta from the table with my fingers & putting it in DS's mouth (so used to not using cutlery for him!!). Or, when we are out & I notice bits of his sloppy food on my clothes & it's easier just to eat it than to try to find a bin to throw it away - then I wonder who has just seen me picking up the soggy biscuit bits... It doesn't seem gross to me - but I'm sure it does to other people!

LMAO! These posts are so funny!

Sometimes I walk around with my singlet still pulled down under my bra after feeding, which must look so stupid! Cos I'm basically walking around with my bra hanging out and my singlet underneath.

    OMG these are so great!

I thought it was just me being typical first-time-mummified.

The list is long and undistinguished -
leaving a bra unhooked so one boob is up near my chin and the other near my ankles,
walking around with baby vomit on a shoulder,
forgetting to brush my hair due to being in such a rush to leave home (this one just recently ),
leaving fly undone after visit to parenting room in shopping centre (very stinky and needed to get out ASAP), etc etc.
I am sure there will be plenty more...
