My DS started waking once in the night about 2 months ago, about 2-3am, give him a bottle and panadol as NOTHING else settles him, never has, and its still going on, but sometimes he wakes twice a night now... ALL the mchn could say was, give him water instead and pat him ect to put him to sleep. Hes never been the kind of bub u could just pat/rock to sleep even when he was tiny... and in all honesty i really cant be bothered staying up for like 2-3 hrs in the middle of the night doing something i know isnt going to work and is just going to make me more sleepy than i already am... i need my sleep as i look after DS 24/7
Tried making his bottles smaller and smaller but then he just sleeps less, if i give him a full bottle he'll prob sleep till about 8.30am but been giving him a smaller bottle lately and hes been waking at 5-6am
will this be something he will grow out of or? i started giving him a bottle and panadol because he was getting his molars, 2 have come through now but yer hes still waking...
How about his day? He's still napping, I take it - when, for how long? Could you cut these down? Is he getting enough exercise, fresh air and learning opportunities?
How much is he eating? Porridge before bed worked wonders at keeping my DS full up.
Teething issues - DS had four molars come through within 2 weeks of each other. He's getting his last four now and baby ibuprofen before bed really helps him.
Health issues - eczema, allergies, intolerances, colds... all these things make sleeping difficult.
Temperatures - is he too cold or too hot at night?
Could you co-sleep? Sometimes my DS just wants to lay in my arms and go back to sleep. I just hate the size of the childbed; when you're 6' tall a 4'8 bed hurts your curled-up legs!
still has naps during the day, usually about 2 hrs, but if we're really busy it might only b an hr
yep we go out somewhere everyday even if its just to the playground lol
hes got 2 molars and always has panadol b4 bed
no health issues, recently had his needles but this sleep prob was happening b4 that
if he wakes up twice in the night, the 2nd time i just put him in the bed with me
I'm having the same problem at the moment but it seems to be happening every second night. Sleeps soundly from 7.30pm to around midnight and then wide awake for 2 hours. Its driving me crazy. Last night he was up for 3 hours. Keen to hear any advice.
