Hi my son has started 4 year old kinder this year.
We have to pay $600 for the year. ( can be paid in instalments)
Then there are the extras - fundrasing incursions etc ... so far we had chocolate drive and a $70 one off payment for incursions and its only the 2nd week lol !!
We are in the eastern suburbs and its the council run kinder, not sure if there is a difference.
It depends where you live.
DS goes to 3yo kinder, and its 880 a year, paid in 4 installments for 4 hours a week.
4yo inder will be about 800 a year, for 12 hours a week - its cheaper becuase its govt subsidised.
If you have recieve certain types of FAO or centrelink payemnts (cant remember which) you can get 10 hours of 4yo kinder per week for free.
I think I must be lucky her in the ACT, as preschool (which is for kid who are 4 on or before 30 April0 is free in the Goverment ones, they are part of the public schools and it is for 12 huors a week.
They do ask for a Vulontary (sp) contribution each year which is about $120 but not compulsory. You do have to pay for excursions though.
I was shocked at the fees this year! DS1 started 4yo kinder this year and it costs $195 per term, so $780 for the year. It seems so expensive, but it's so worthwhile.
