Question In the Night Garden party ideas !! ... Any suggestions welcomed : )

    Hello all,

I'm having a " In the Night Garden " themed birthday party for my DD's 3rd birthday in early May

Can you lovely BB people throw some ideas my way ... absolutely anything from food (including the birthday cake), decorations, games, lootbag goodies, costume for the birthday girl, - Any ideas at all to do with the theme

Chances are it will be cold and/or wet weather so the party will be in either our newish double garage or small house ... i'm thinking garage for more room ... so any ideas there would be just SUPER

Thanks a million for any replies

I think there have been some members that have made a birthday cake in the shape of them... can't remember off the top of my head though who it was...

I'm sure I have seen some stuff in Coles in the cake making aisle about them.. a little cake or something...

Dunno... I don't usually go for themed parties so can't really offer much!!!

    Sorry!!!

I made an upsy daisy cake for DD1 - just her face (as its round!) It was a chocolate cake with marshmallows/choc for her eyes, choc button for her nose, snakes for her hair and red licorice for her eyebrows and mouth

I clicked on this thread because I really, really, really wanted an ITNG theme for DS's 1st birthday, BUT, besides the cake (that you could make yourself) it is impossible to get ITNG themed party supplies. I have searched EVERYWHERE!! The only place I could find stuff was Ebay...and that all had to be ordered from the UK! I dont think any places in Aus have the license to sell stuff...well, I can't find anything anyway.
I will subscribe to this thread so if you do find anything...let me know.

Have you tried sparties... they had some cool themed stuff when i was searching for baby shower stuff... Not sure if i saw any ITNG but it might be worth a peek....

Hmmm... you could get red serviettes like Iggle piggles blanket. I have seen a few eppisodes. Hmmm... can you make any food things that look like a boat ( like the begining where he sails) You could make Macca Pacca ginger bread men... ( he's brown just have to get the shape right...

    Hmmm its difficult...

Hey MARLENE ... i feel your disappointment ... I emailed that many parties companies here in Aus i lost count how many ... not a single person has any ITNG party goodies coming in anytime of the near or far future !!

Have checked Sparties, Lombards, etc ... !!

JESS - love the gingerbread man idea !!!!!!!!

Looks like it has something to do with the licensing.

So, i caved in and purchased a ' party pack ' plus more of ITNG party stuff off one of the two UK suppliers on eBay site in Aussie. The postage i paid included insurance and i sign for at my end.

DP & i figured DD is our only child ... not like we other kids to have parties for during the year ... so we decided to go for it and spend a bit extra money there

( Fingers crossed the parcel DOES arrive or i think i may cry !!)

Maybe if we get everyone on BB to email a party supplies store we can get them to supply ITNG stuff, LOL.

Jess, you have some great ideas there!!

By the way, I sent you a PM smiles.

I have some ITNG party supplies like balloons, napkins, plates, cups, a cake topper (edible picture thingy), invites and such I bought off Ebay for a ridiculous amount from the UK for Ds2's 1st birthday this year and never used as we didnt end up having a party

Your welcome to them Smiles! Just pm me if your interested and I'll pop them in the post!

I was going to set up our backyard like the night garden, get a photocopy stores to blow up a cut out of Iggle piggle etc and then paint them/back them with cardboard, pop them around so the kids can "play" with the characters. Fairy lights, some bean bags for "flowers" - you could still do that in a garage.

    Maybe pin-the-blankie-on-Iggle for a game?

I think and easy and cheap thing would be to buy some red polar fleece and give each kid an Iggle Piggle blankie as a party favour - no sewing required

I was going to do something like this for DD's 1st birthday this Saturday but it was too hard to find anything. I was going to get a set of characters to decorate the cake which I was going to make with green icing as the grass but I could only find a set of characters for $30 so decided against it. The only place I found ITNG party supplies was the official website but that's in the UK.
