i would not recommend a lollypop as that is EXCESSIVE sugar for a baby of 6 months, a BF or bottle is all that is needed as it is the sucking and swallowing that helps.
Good luck
We are heading to NZ next wk to see all the family and i'm hoping that you lovely ladies will share all your good tips with me for travelling with a 6 month old bubba.
I have read about feeding at take off and landing. Can I give a lollypop to suck on?? We'll be watching her so she wouldn't be abel to choke on it???? and she can't bite it yet??
flight is 3 hours so go on ladies... send your suggestions this way![]()

I used either the dummy or his bottle and I took a book and 2 toys in my carry on for him. It makes it a much easier flight. Good luck darl
anyone else??????![]()
Id recommend a boob or a bottle if you arent using a dummy.
Or maybe teething ring?
Or those little pouch feeder things, you could put mashed veg or something like that in there if you have started solids.
Oh RayRay.. i like the pouch feeder idea. I have a flight with DS later this month. And I totally forgot about take off and landing...
Jenni, can you let me know how you get on, and any tips you get from your trip.
hey there, i think there was a similar post to this recently that may help - will try to find it and post a link (if i can work out how!)

We flew with DS when he was 8 months, 2 flights in one day, both 1.5 hours long.
Definitely agree to bf or bottle on take off and landing. Landing is far worse than take off IMO, and even though I b'fed DS on the way down, it still hurt him and he cried in pain a fair bit. But as soon as we landed he was fine. Be prepared to have a bubba in pain for a little while, and just remember there isn't much you can do for them but lots of cuddles and remember that it won't last long.
Also, make sure you have lots of toys etc on hand to keep them amused.
Most people are quite considerate and understanding of having a baby on a flight so don't worry about that side too much.
Hope this helps![]()
For flying with my DD, I popped her in her sling, and gave her a bottle for take off and landing. Also sometimes planes can be really cold, so it's a good idea to take a blanket or jacket and socks.
Good luck- the roaring of the plane landing and taking off can be quite a scary sound for little ears.
