How To Keep A Brand New Bathroom Clean...

We're about to move from a tiny 2 x 1 unit into our brand new 4 x 2 house. I am really excited but the bane of my current bathroom cleaning is mould and a dirty shower.

How do I keep bathrooms looking like they do when we first move in? Plenty of ventilation I guess...any other tips?

Swish and swipe - do a quick clean every day instead of a big clean every now and then.
Vinegar is the enemy of mould. Lots of the chemical mould cleaners just bleach the mould but vinegar kills it so give the whole place a wipe over over with vinegar every now and then to stay on top of the mould.

lol more like a blowfly lady....

I'm pretty hopeless at house work so I try the fly lady routines but I always end up falling behind.

I have a glass shower screen and I am usually the last to use the shower so I spray it with windex shower stuff and use a squidgee (sp?) to wipe it all nice and clean. Works a treat and I don't have any probs with the white build up.

Thanks Sue, I'll try that. Do you just do the shower screen? How about the tiles?

I do scrape the water off the floor tiles in the shower and into the drain so I don't get any mould or gunk build up at all around the bottom of the shower. My shower cubicle still looks brand new.

Keep a stack of terry flats in the bathroom, and wipe down everything after you're shower. You can even use them to mop up the floor, then do your regular big clean once a week.
