Bright Blue flash of light?

A few weeks ago I saw a flash of blue light.
It was bright blue, like a neon blue I suppose. I saw it for about 2-3 seconds and it dissapeared. I got the impression the light dissapeared cause I noticed it. The weirdest thing is though, it cant be explained as being something like a toy or cell phone etc, cause of where I saw it. I was sitting on my bed (in a darkened room - lamp was on and hall light) facing the bookshelf and it came from the bookshelf, at the back. There is/was nothing there that could have made that light that in anyway that I understand, so I googled. It seems lots of people have seen blue flashes of light in the form of sparks, but this was not sparks. Just one solid ball/flash of light. I felt like I was being photographed if that makes sence?

Any one got any ideas of what it was?

wow thats very interesting... i cant be of any help but am definately interested in what others will have to say about it!
has it happened again or only that once?

no I have not seen it again. I was sort of wondering if I would, but I have not noticed it.
