For some cheaper stuff check out Big W and Kmart. Also Ripe in Aust on Collins or the Pea in a Pod factory outlet in Collingwood. Pumpkin Patch have some good maternity wear too but I always buy online as they have good specials (try them on in the shops but then buy online).

When i as preg with my DD i purchased from BigW (was in beach clothing area) it was a choc brown cotton clothing item with wide shirred elastic at the top ... that had multi-purposes on the tag & it showed diagrams of different ways to wear it, for example a skirt, a baby-doll long top or short dress

It wasn't maternity so i just got the next size up to what i would normally wear, ... i have seen them each Summer still in BigW but mostly now in white.

It was the most comfy clothing i wore when heavily preg, i just loved it
