I have a pandora bracelet and SIL has a lovelinks bracelet. I was wondering if anyone knows if the charms are interchangeable? Ie, can you put pandora charms on the lovelinks bracelet and vice versa?
ETA: no we haven't tried them ourselves as we don't see each other very often
I've been doing a stack of 'research' into this subject as of late!!
From what I've asked, every jeweller that I've asked if the charms are interchangable have said yes... except the Pandora retailers
One jeweller in Neutral Bay last week gave me the low down on the whole craze, from start to finish, telling me how they originally started as a Troll bracelet, but never took off due to poor advertising, and so Pandora came along, marketed well... and the rest is history.
He stocks Bacio, and I asked him to tell me why he chose Bacio over the other brands -so obviously what is the difference, and why did he think Bacio was the best in order to stock them over the others?
He said realistically the only difference is where they are made.(They're all still made from either Sterling Silver, 9ct gold or 14ct gold.)Pandora (although originally Danish) are made in Thailand, Bacio & Amore are made in Italy, etc...
There's an independant jeweller here that makes his own, and they are beautiful!
He can customise and make your own design.. very special
DH & I actually went and saw him last week - he's doing me a quote to make me the bracelet and a few charms in 9ct gold.
I looked at the Pandora ones, but I only wear gold, and they only make them in 14ct... and they're $1700 for the band alone!!!!!
My Aunty has a Pandora bracelet with charms from a few - Bacio, Amore, Pandora, and a few cheapy ones shes bought at the markets, etc - and they all go on the original Pandora band.
So for the long answer of your question, they are interchangable
Hmm... I have a Pandora, with a bunch of different charms from other models and a few cheap market ones. I thought all the charms fit on the Pandora bracelet but the Pandora charms won't fit on other bracelets? So you are best off to start with a Pandora bracelet, and you can put any charms on it, where as if you had a lovelinks bracelet you could only put some of the other charms on it (and not the Pandora ones) if that makes sense??
BTW, I actually found the Pandora charms to be be pretty boring in the scheme of things. The Lovelinks and the el cheapo ones have a much better variety of different funky charms.
And HollyBolly is right- the gold Pandora is ridiculously expensive!!
