    Mmmm, I always had them crimped side down. When I had long hair I was a big one for putting my hair up in a bun and it stayed up really well, so when I didn't have it up in a bun and just back I used the crimped side down as well.

    I always have crimped side up too. I'll have to try swapping and see what happens.

    Wow, I hadn't even considered... Doesn't the bit that sticks out on the end of the crimped side stick into your head though? (I guess it doesn't matter if it's still got the plastic on the end?)

    It didn't stick in my head at all. I couldn't even feel it. And it kind of made my hair look better. Can't explain it... you gotta try it!

    I always used them crimped side up until I saw that pin on Pinterest. Mine would always fall out too until I tried the "right" way and haven't had any dramas!!

    So funny- I had a friend over today and I noticed she had her bobby pins in crimped side down... I've always done crimp side up and never had a problem. I buy the $15 container from hairdressing supply shops
