    I think that some are against the full burka as it completely hides the identity of the individual, so you don't really know who is underneath... TBH it could be anyone....

    I guess an example that may come to mind is that you can't wear a motorcycle helmet into a bank because it hides your identity, yet you can wear a burka.... not sure if anyone had tried to hold up a bank wearing one though well at least in Australia

    I don't know how it works for passports etc, how does one be identified when it is not within the bounds of their religion to reveal their face in public? I have no idea how this is dealt with.

    I heard a very eloquent Muslim woman discussing this on the radio recently, in relation to the recent French legislation banning the burka. She said that at an airport she would merely ask for a female staff member, and show her face to her. She said that if she was asked to reveal her identity to enter somewhere but a female staff member was not available, she would merely leave rather than show her face to a man.
