Conditioner or vasaline around your face/neck before you dye. Hair dye cant stick to it.

To get it off, try bicarb paste, nail polish remover or ciggarette ash mixed in a little shampoo or condtioner (this works wonderfully!!).

Also, buy yourself a hairdressers cape. It will save abit of your neck and your shoulders.

I used to use barrier cream around my hairline (ok over half my face because I'm seriously bad with hair dye) - eucalyptus or tea-tree oil will get it off but make sure you don't have a reaction to it first.

Yes to the cigarette ash thing, it does work (although it is a bit icky lol). Next time you dye, keep a pack of baby wipes at the ready so that you can wipe up any smears before it stains your skin, that's what I do with mine and DH's hair
