Did you regret cutting it off? That is a resounding NO! I had hair like yours - super thick and it was wavy too which made it extra hard to manage. I used to have a mid-length layered style but I cut it all off for the first time 7 years ago, grew it out again and then went back to a super short pixie cut about 4 years ago and have kept it short. I did grow it out a little last year, but it was still short. I got jack of having to straighten it because it was just starting to go wavy again.
- Is it expensive to maintain? (ie - how often do you need to go back to the hairdresser to get it cut/thinned out). My hair grows really quickly so if I want to maintain it at the really short length, I go for a trim every 3 weeks and it costs me $33. But lately I've been leaving it 5 weeks and by then it is really thick again.
- Do you need to style it or can you simply wash and wear? I style it when I'm going out for the day, but otherwise I wet it with water and comb it and it's done! I wash my hair at night so it just needs a light spray with water in the morning.
- Would you ever let it grow out again or is it the best thing you've ever done? Honestly it's the best thing I've ever done. I feel quite liberated having short hair actually. I like that I can make it look nice if I want to, or I can just let it be. So few women have hair this short and I think that makes me like it a little more too. I love that if I'm running a little late to get the kids on the school bus, I just give it a quick comb and it's done. Even when I go swimming or playing sport it makes it so much easier because you don't have hot, sweaty hair in your face.
