I just cut my very long hair last week! and love it my hair was just above the top of my butt and is now just on the top of my shoulders! my hairdresser was having palpitations cutting it but she knows my hair grows really quickly so wasn't surprised I wanted to go the chop. I have wavy thick hair which I had thinned out and layered and it is sooo much easier to maintain. I only use product if I'm styling it straight to go out otherwise its wash and wear but still enough length that if I want to tie it back I can without having bits falling out.

I don't regret cutting at all and wish I'd done it sooner rather than waiting 2years!
