Different Sized Breasts - Custom Bras? Insertable Padding?
My DD2 has strongly favoured one side since birth and as such, I am now the proud owner of one breast that is a DD/E and another that is a smallish C. I'm not that fussed about it but would love to find a bra that actually fits and works with such a difference in sizes. If I wear something to suit the smaller than the bigger is bursting out the top of it and basically escapes if I ever have to bend over or turn in a certain way but if I wear a bigger size to accommodate the larger breast than the smaller is constantly falling out if I bend over and it isn't at all comfortable. I don't know what to do! Are there places you can get a custom bra with two different cup sizes? Where? (Am in Brisbane) Is it super expensive? Any other tips? Maybe like some sort of padding I can add to a bigger sized bra for my small side to help? But what? Would that help contain the smaller one through child rearing movement (bending, climbing, jumping)? I am wearing full cupped breastfeeding bras currently, would there be a better style... maybe a sporting style or something? Still needs to be fairly accessible for breastfeeding purposes. Any place any one could recommend where you can go talk to them about your bra requirements and they have advice about what would suit best?
DD1 breastfed till 3 so if I have to go through this for another 2yrs than I want to invest in some proper bras! I'm so sick of readjusting all day lol.
I know how you feel. I don't think my size difference is as much though. But I have found I go with the size that suits the larger breast (also a dd/e) and then shorten the strap on the other side which is more a d. That helps.. But I have found the triumph "active mummy" i think its called, sports bra to be good. I got them in Kmart & have not seen them since so I am glad I bought 3 of them but I do need to replace them. But they have a good semi crop top style cup that provides good coverage for my forever escaping larger breast.
That is such a brilliant idea! I spent time yesterday making sure the straps were even yesterday after washing lol not sure why I never thought to make them different. Test driving this today!
The difference is so crazy this time even though I'm sure DD1 had the same preference... maybe that is why actually! I've thought about trying to encourage the other side to even things up but if I can barely manage to rustle up enough care factor to shave my legs more frequently than I don't think I'm going to be committed enough in the middle of the night to worry about which side is being used more lol.
I know EXACTLY how you feel! My boobs are probably about the same sizes as yours and it happened to me with all my babies around 6 months (i think I have 'shorter' ducts on one side so its harder to feed and they all get a little more knowledgeable/fussy by 5-6months. So now I figure its not worth the struggle trying to continue with both and the 'big' one just takes over all feeds... So having said that I have a molded padding that I use in the small side from then so hopefully I won't get to sagged from being in a bra that's way to big (for that one ) and I'm alot more comfortable. Occasionally I have to readjust that side but its not to bad especially when you consider I'm running around after 4 little ones. Anyway, you can get them from a bra shop (and I think maybe Kmart target??) I've found it helpful hope you work something out to
