Ive had them....but theres something about short, clean ,nicely manicured natural nails that i like......

I love the way my natural nails look after the mani. I did get the girl to do a french polish, but I bumped it before it was fully dry so I took off the polish the next day and buffed my nails at home. I might just get regular mani's to keep my natural nails looking good.
    .....thats what i think too.

I was horrified at the state of my nails after about 3 months of acryclics....so no, there not really for me.

I always had the most horrible nails until I got pregnant with DD!! While I was training to be a nail tech part of the training was practicing on each other, so for a few months I was constantly having acrylics put on once a week and it was *horrible*... so damaging to the natural nail, and I have really oily beds so they'd always peel/crack off within a day or two (and, it didn't help that the other trainees doing them weren't really good at what they were doing!).
So, once I started growing my beautiful lush pregnant nails, I never looked back - I take good care of them and I don't think I'll ever get acrylics again, even when I do finish my training and hopefully become a nail tech/beauty therapist! I can do french tips and all kinds of cool things with nail polish on natural nails, so I don't miss out on all those gorgeous designs and tips that I see ladies with fakies having! My latest 'experiment' involved leopard-print nails... it worked a treat I often do reverse frenches - pale pink/buff (I prefer pink over buff/tan, pink suits my skin colour better) base with black tips, or bright tips (hot pink, neon green, bright blue, glitter etc).

Best tip I can share with all of you, whether you love your fakies or your real nails, is Solar Oil (google it). Best. Thing. Ever. Invented for nails.

OMG the last time i had my nails done was like in 1993 ... no kidding

Me too GothMum, ... my nails were simply gorgeous when pregnant (long & strong which they usually aint and sadly mine arent now ... boo hoo) !!

Since DD has been on the scene i rarely get to paint my finger nails (just file these days) ... but i must have my toes nails painted (find them easier to paint & especially dry) ....

I'm a huge fan of metallic nailpolish ... oh, especially bright or dark purple's & dark blues

Revlon has a great range of new metallic/dark shades... apparently this season the big trend is for 'gothic' hues (lololol, every winter the soft-goth thing comes out, I love it because I can stock up on clothes without spending a fortune buying from specialist retailers overseas!), so dark blues, blacks, browns, jewel tones (blood red, dark purple, forest green etc) and metallics are everywhere

I loved mine when I had them... It meant I always had neat and tidy nails, and I found they always looked good when I looked at my hands rather than having them all uneven because I break them. Having said that I've also broken quite a few acrylic ones too... I'm a disaster zone what can I say.

DH also liked them, he thought they were sexy

But financially I just couldn't keep it after Christmas, I almost cried the day they came off

Smithy you are bad bad news posting that!! They are awesome & there are about 15 I want to get now!!! I like the idea of the security rings too so nothing will snag on them. Oh I am so piercing my nails again

Sonya I've been known to break mine as well, clumsy thing that I am!! Aaron loves mine too for back scratches

I have acrylic but with the gel overlay to make them glossy looking. The place I go also does acrylics for toenails! At first I thought that was a little weird but my nail tech told me they are really popular and he once had a lady cry afterwards claming her toenails were that horrible she could never wear open toe shoes until now.
