I go to the hairdresser but my hair is naturally brown and I have blonde foils so I am too scared to do it mysel for to get anyone to do it for me at home, even though my sis does her own and it looks great. Se gets those ones that you do foils with a brush or something. Im alsotoo chicken to go back to my natural hair colour (its been 10 years!!) so I will keep forking out the $$$ unfortunately. Mine costs over $80 just for colour too but I found a lovely Sth Korean guy who is awesome and I go every 10 weeks on average! I used to get my sisters SIL to do it at home and she only charged around $50 but she lives OS now and its taken me nearly 2 years to find another hairdresser Im happy with!!

I sometimes go to the hairdresser and get foils and a colour and cut.. it only costs me like $75 I think. But when I just really cant be bothered I do it myself. My motto is

Looks great, I cant see the back so it must be ok! :P

i only ever do my own. I usually dye it black & end up with dye all around my hair line, all down my back & around my ears haha. It comes off after a couple of showers. I just cant justify paying all that money for a hair dye at a salon when it looks the same as if i did it myself after a couple of days anyways. i havent done it for a while now. Cant decide on a colour anymore

I usually go toa hairdresser because everytime i do it myself it doesnt turn out the way i would have liked. Plus i love getting foils done and i can't do those myself.

I have been thinking lately to treat myself to a cut, style and colour soon cause my hair is so dry and ratty right now plus it makes me hot in summer and add that to pregnancy i dont look very glamourous!

Rainy, I used to go to the hairdresser and pay $250 a go for a cut and colour, only to find that within a couple of weeks the colour had dramatically faded, even when using colour shampoo. These days I havent had my hair dyed at the salon for over a year, as I buy packets and do it myself and get the exact same result. However if I wanted foils, I'd be off to the hairdresser. I actually need to go soon because I want to build up some foils for my wedding day.

I've been coloring my own for many years. I have had numerous hairdressers tell me I do a fantastic job of it. I used to use the kit you can get that you do an allover color then do your highlights but I've found since getting some resitant greys whilst pregnant it doesn't work well on the greys. I've also tried one of the permanent Loreal ones - can't remember which and again it didn't cover the grey. Damn being over 40!!!!

I'm now looking for a new brand. I'm about to try the latest version of Nice N Easy. It states it covers even the most resistant greys so we shall see.

Bit of both, but I prefer going to the hairdresser. I have done every kind of colour you can think of myself at home, but getting a cut and colour at the hairdresser is so much more of a treat, plus my hair always looks so much better than when I do it myself.
