That used to happen to me when I hadn't had them on for a while and they put them on tight. If your nails are quite sort they will be pushed down low on the nail bed which will feel tighter.
is it meant to hurt a little bit the first day/night?
Its been a REALLY REALLY long time since i've had gel/acrylic nails and got some done today. I don't know if it's because i'm just not used to it or because they are new and my fingers need to adjust but they are hurting a little bit tonight. It's like there is lots of pressure on my nail bed itms. Does it stay like this? Does it get better?
I can't remember ever having anything like this before????

Hi sunshine.
I am a former nail tech/beauty therapist, if they feel tight and sore that should settle cause they are just stuck on very well, if you have normally really thin nails that may also be why.
If its underneath the edge if the nail or around the cuticle then the have probably filed a bit of your skin which will also settle in a few days.
Hope this helps :-)
I've never had them hurt. Sometimes they have glued too much between back of fake nail and skin on tip of finger which feels sore.

Hope they settle soon, I would say it cause they are thin and agree with 2cheekymonkeys, I do that to my own every now and again and pull the skin back to early and it hurts for a day or so, I should know better lol
Did they settle down sunshine????
Yeah they did. Lifting a bit now though. I'm not planning on having them long, maybe 6-8wks. By then I'll be over the
Lol
Glad they settled down, sucks when the job done is not good and they are lifting already :-(
