Fringes - In or out?

I have a round and chubby face and I would never, ever get a short hair cut. Shoulder length is the shortest I'll go.
I'm starting to train my hair for a side fringe, so that when I go to cut to then I've already trained it. I love fringes.

I was considering that. I've always either gone with a plain colour or just put one or two strips of colour in.

Looking at photos of myself, i really liked the way i looked with black hair, though i swore i'd never go back to black but if it looks nice why not? Though my actual hair length is bugging me. Maybe ill get a few inches off get it re-layered and then dyed.

I've got dark brown/black on top and red underneath. We did that because of how fast my hair grows, the top layer hides the regrowth & the red shows through quite a lot when I want it to.
