If your skin is on the dry side I wouldn't use Witch Hazel.

Well I thought I would give the coconut oil a shot and bought a jar today. Not what I was expecting lol. I figured if I don't like it on my face we can always eat the rest of it . Haven't worn any makeup yet to test it out.

I have used witch hazel for many............many years and I have weird skin and have had no problems with it. I have a container with the wipes already in it beside the bed so it's about the last thing I do when I get ready for bed. I also have a container in my overnight bag.
Never had any problems around the eye area either

MD - while you're playing with coconut oil, add a tablespoon to a bath with your favourite essential oils. It's very moisturising. Just be careful not to slip getting in & out.

PZ - good tip buying it at the Indian grocers. I've been making friends with the local old indian grocer, so I shall see if they have some. I just use a spoon to scoop it out.

I use coconut oil sometimes as an overnight hair mask then wash it out the next morn.

What does that do? I've not tried that but I have an oily scalp.

So is everyone using coconut oil or does anyone use coconut butter? I kind of thought the coconut butter might be a little more lush but it does set a lot harder so maybe the oil is easier.

It's like a hair mask - it moisturises dry hair. I have an oily scalp too but my hair gets really dry. If you wash it out properly the next day and condition it shouldn't make your scalp more oily.

I haven't read the replies so sorry if I doubling up but you can use any oil from your kitchen!!!! Personally macadamia and almond oil are my two favourites, but I have been known to use olive oil in desperate times! Perfect makeup and mascara removers then I cleanse after if you need, or warm compress on the face. Perfect, cheap, and all natural!

It's the same stuff. When it's solid, it's called coconut butter. When it's liquid, it's called oil. Even when it starts solid, once you rub it on your skin, it's melts. Just like chocolate (not that I've rubbed chocolate on my skin. I prefer to eat mine)

No I have both and they are different. I just checked and the butter says it is made from coconut flesh "not just oil". Think I'll use the oil then.
